Stress and burnout can be confused with one another. Because the symptoms of stress and burnout are very similar and overlap, it can be a challenge to tell the two apart. Mistaking one for the other could lead to harm, especially when trying to treat it. For this reason, it’s important to know how to tell if you have stress or burnout and what you can do about it. In this video, we will be talking about the signs you're burnt out, not just stressed and the difference between burnout and stress.

Hi guys ! I finally told my parents that I didn’t feel okay and they said they will help me ! I’m happy but scared also :)

Edit :
it didn’t help with anything, I’m still suffering all of these days and my dad just screamed at me because I couldn’t stop crying because I didn’t want to go to school, ik I didn’t go for 1 week ( my mental health ) but I still am NOT okay, clearly 1 week helped with nothing and they didn’t even help my mental health…

Hi psych2go. It’s been 3 years since I’ve found this channel, and in those 3 years my life has greatly improved. I’m not only giving credit to these videos, but they absolutely helped me when I was at my lowest. To anyone struggling to find your light, keep pushing, it’s worth it

Burnout is my worst enemy. My whole personality takes a 180 when I experience burnout.

I'm so glad you made this video. It confirms that I have been experiencing burnout a lot. I'm trying my best to moderate myself, and I'm seeing improvement.

Part of the problem with seeking help (at least in the UK atm), is that there just isn't enough help available. It's hard enough to even reach out for help when you're depressed or burned out, but the health service as it is doesn't give any result unless you call over and over, persistently pushing for days on end even just to see a doctor. There simply aren't enough of them any more.
A friend of mine died recently from lung failure. He'd tried on and off for two weeks to get a GP appointment about a lung infection (not covid). By the time he went to A&E (ER), he had a full-blown case of pneumonia and scarring. Despite being put on a ventilator and anti-biotics, he died a little over a week later. If he'd gotten treatment within a couple of days of him first ringing the doctor, he'd likely still be alive.
I know a few councellors and mental health professionals. They're similarly over-burdened.

I deal with stress from certain expectations all the time. And watching these videos really help me unwind and understand myself better. It’s time for me to rest cause I certainly don’t want to burn out. 😅

You know, it's very sad when i realize that most of your videos that cover the topic of depression, burnout, or self-hatred, is soo spot on to my condition. when i watch them i was like " that's exactly what's happening to me right now ".

but hey, i'm still enjoying life.. for anyone out there who feel the same as me, i know that this had been said like million times but trust me friend, you're not alone.. and life has much in store for us, so don't give up yet! we can keep moving on and try to be better.

This is what I needed to hear. I'm literally clutching a heating pack just for comfort. I've brought up being stressed and burnt out to the school counselor, she listened and basically told me you have no reason to worry. Brought it up to my parents and they said to find things to help me relax. I've tried, but I have no energy to do that either. Please help me 😢

I remember when I had academic burnout. It was a terrible experience. While I have moved on from it, I can still feel the crushing pressure whenever I think about the word "school". I wasn't traumatized by it. More of it left that much of an impact on me. I don't ever want to experience the same academic burnout ever again.

I would always second guess myself with this subject. I remember saying I felt "burnt out" to my aunt, but she said "you're still a kid, you have nothing to be burnt out about!" And would just deny everything I said after.
But I'm definitely just burnt out.

I would love to go get mental help, but the psychologists in my town brushed me off when I told them that my meds seemed to be helping, but I still wanted someone to talk to. Now I'm suffering stress or burnout and wishing to God that I could escape the place I live, even for a week because I can't stand seeing the same four rooms in my apartment, and visiting with people here doesn't help because they only want grist for the rumor mill. I'm slowly going out of my mind.

Facinating, never knew what impact a Burn out can have.
Almost all symptoms i heave right now beginning from fatigue, short temper to just feeling broken down and cant carry on anymore. I feel like it is not worth it.

this hits close to home. I may be even in the latter stages. I feel my work is unimportant and I'm working just for the paycheck with few motivation and no fulfillment.

When a negative thought has you in its undertow, break the circuit. Interrupt the pattern simply by breathing in. Focus your attention elsewhere until the negative thought no longer owns you. You own it.

And you can decide what to do with it. Journal. Walk. Have a conversation with it. Treat it with compassion. Your breath will buy you these options and many more.

It's the fact that I just quit my job when I got the notification this video was posted 2 hours ago. Definitely not a coincidence

I've been working at a tech startup for about a year and completely feel the burnout. I'm the type of person to always gives 150% effort into something due to fear of getting fired. However, this has lead me to ONLY think about work, do assignments during my off hours and it's actually been causing a decrease in work efficiency due to overthinking the consequences and not giving myself time to clear my mind and have a mental break.

I used to enjoy doing my hobbies after work, but due to burnout I haven't done them since and it feels like I'm being consumed by my job. Hearing this video made the tears fall, and it's a relief knowing I'm NOT strange or weird for feeling depressed about this.

I feel just like this, and it's been a year and a half, but finally I've find the nerve to talk to my mum (even if she struggled to understand me), and next week I'm going to meet my therapist. So what I want to teel u people, is that there's still hope and u can get out of this even if sometimes it seems like there's nothing to do, I assure u that ur strong and u can💗
