Has your mental health taken a hit lately? You could be very likely stressed and emotionally burnout. Burn out is a serious emotional and physical condition where you simply do not have the energy to do things anymore. Everything becomes a chore and you lose motivation for whatever you are doing. It's very common especially now, with covid and always having to stay home, and economic stress, but hopefully, you will recognize some of these burn out signs in someone who you care about.

Ever since I started working third shift full-time I notice I became susceptible to burn out quite a bit. Getting things back on track now thanks to therapy.

I reached this point 5 years ago. It wasn't because of a relationship or because of people. It was because one day I sat and thought too hard about my life and the point of existence and it dawned on me that while I lost family and friends over the years nothing was ever going to change. In time all I did and said would be forgotten and everything I care about would die.

I've lost enough pets and enough people I cared deeply about throughout my life to know this is a fact of life and no amount of things to help me forget will ever change this reality. That is why I am like how I am... I write, I draw, I listen to music, I occasionally attempt to help those I feel are most of need of my support... But in the end I am just done with it all. I don't care about any of it. I've accepted my fate.

This was literally me last school year 100% along with being completely overwhelmed with other things that I was being pushed and expected to do. Felt like I was suffocating or drowning, yet I HAD to keep pushing through everything because I'm a complete perfectionist. It got to the point last fall/winter where true relaxation and sleep became like a reward. Now it's summer though and I'm doing much better. I hope next year will be a bit more manageable - especially because I dropped out of one of the things that was stressing me.

I used to have a burnout for like 2 years now. And last month i finally started doing what i love and even if i was tired after school, i wasn't exhausted in a bad way. And my parents are toxic, so i suffered all this while but now I'm minding my own business and I'm actually doing well. I have a strong bond with my friends and genuinely feel so much better about myself.

But the point is,
If you're reading this, it's a sign. A sign that you shouldn't give up.
There will be toxic friends, toxic peers, toxic family members, toxic teachers, and toxic strangers who love putting you down.
Life is hard and i know that from experience. But hey so are you! You are strong and you will overcome everything soon. Keep moving forward. And if you've ever thought of ending your life like i have, trust me, don't do it.
Because when you push yourself to move ahead and heal, you'll be extremely proud of yourself and you will know that things always get better over time.
Say "no" when you have to and never force yourself to do what your body and mind says no to. Even if it's a family member or an adult, if you can't do it, you don't have to.

So come on, you can totes do this! ✨
Stay strong and keep going because I'm proud of how amazing you are for coming this far.
Love,
A random stranger on the internet

I work at a health insurance company and the last year feels like the mental health calls have doubled. Even worse, I have never seen so many suicide attempts than in the last 12 months.
Thank you for your continued work in making people aware of their own mental health, and normalizing it as well.
Please continue you work, and thank you. 🤗

This channel is the reason I decided to take a (well needed and deserved) break before beginning my doctoral program. I thought I was just dealing with depression, which I was, but burnout made my work so much worse. I hope to begin my program next summer, but until I can overcome these symptoms of burnout, I will be taking time for myself. Thank you Psych2Go!

After watching this video it seems like being burnt out has been my standard operating mode for many years now. I try to spice it up by doing new things or returning to things I haven't touched in a long time, but typically that only results in a very short-lived change, and then I'm back to feeling burnt out after maybe a week or two

i don’t think i’m burnt out but i feel empty like nothing i do is worth it even the things i used to enjoy don’t effect me at all and when i experience something that is supposed to make me happy or mad i feel little to nothing at all. i feel numb and lonely even though i’m surrounded by people who care for me it’s like i have a whole in my chest or i’m some puzzle with a peace missing

I realized I was feeling burnout across the board about 10 years ago. The prolonged stagnation of my career destroyed by ability to have any sort of healthy personal life, especially after my marriage ended.
Compounded with the 1-2 punch of C-PTSD and what I only recently was told is likely Bipolar Disorder, rather than just 'serious' Depression, and functioning every day with any measure of consistency is a massive challenge.

At this point, I've come to terms with the fact that I'm dealing with the whole "gifted kid burnout" thing, and have been for a while. I want to take more time for myself, but unfortunately, the American School System just doesn't work like that. I'm just hoping I can survive this last year of high school...

I'm slowly recovering from burnout. I just want to tell people, you can't give up, things take time, but remember take time for yourself too, you are the most important part of your life.

I literally just went through a bad case of burnout myself. All it was, was the constant stress due to final exams that lasted the entire week. My school year is over now, and I was told I passed every class this year. Since that week, I've taken the weekend to just chill and decompress for what I've had to deal with. Honestly, when you feel overworked, that's one of the best things you can do for yourself. When it's all done, do something you love and make sure to at least get outside for some air, okay?
