For breakfast I have avocado on a toast. It is awesome. I don’t care what you say. It’s very good and delicious too. Most important is very happy if you sourdough bread.

One of my fav snacks, which sounds awful but tastes delicious is stuffing black olives with a little natural peanutbutter. Seriously, everyone turns their nose up at the thought but once they try it, they are amazed and go back for more.
Thank you for the ideas list. I have just been diagnosed with celiac disease and so trying to figure out how t snack without carbs. I am also vegan which makes it a little more difficult with no gluten, low to no carbs also.

These are all great options. Thanks for the info. I will say, as someone trying to break a sugar addiction, these fall more into that salty or maybe even savory category.

People who struggle with eating a lot of sugar need alternatives that will satisfy the sweet craving which can obviously be done with fruit, but what else?

I love to use Avocado/Guacamole as better alternative to mayonnaise in most sandwiches.... especially with a lil squirt of lemon juice in it. Yummy!

If you want to control blood glucose or lose weight, lose the carbs/sugar and DON'T snack. Eat high fat diet and the intense hunger goes away. Avoid over eating at meals.

Let me correct a few mistakes in the article. First during the induction phase of a low carb diet(that period where you are actively seeking to lose weight) you need to keep net carb intake to under 20 carbs per day. During that period you're not allowed to eat any nuts or seeds or fruit including avocados. Zero carb or near zero carb foods are meats, fish and perhaps some other types of seafood, and fats (butter, cheese(varieties that are less than one carb per oz., eggs, meat fats ) I do the majority of my cooking using butter of bacon fat. I know of no other foods that are zero in net carbs(sugars). Later when you reach your weight goal and shift into the maintenance phase you are allowed small portions of nuts, seeds, and avocados. Please don't suggest for people to limit their salt intake. It's easy to lose enough sodium while on a low carb diet to actually fall below the minimum sodium levels in your blood. For most of us it's necessary to increase sodium and for some to limit liquid intake. I had to limit my liquids to no more than 50 ozs per day even with increased salt intake. Always go by your blood work. If you want to correct more then I'd suggest finding an old copy of atkins new diet revolution and reading it a couple of times. I've had mine for 30 years now and allow myself 12 carbs per day. Here's my best suggestion. When you pick up a can or jar or bag of something besides reading the net carbs read the serving size. Many foods are allowed to say zero carb if they contain less than one carb per serving. But the bits add up. Example heavy whipping cream. Listed as zero carb for a one or two tablespoon serving. A cup of whipping cream is around 7 carbs per serving. Here's a second suggestion if you want to increase your health and make a low carb diet simple. Read up on a carnivore diet and what you have to eat to get 100% of your nutrition. Eat that way and then add in a few small servings of low carb vegetables ( not for added nutrition but rather for eating pleasure).
