According to Rodney Benjamin, Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine Physician at South Miami Hospital, the symptoms that people feel when they attempt to quit smoking can vary from just being a little ready for a few days and annoying your family to being a completely insane person and out of control.

"It's a withdrawal and withdrawals can be powerful. The average person is just uncomfortable and has cravings and eats too much, but this is a huge spectrum," he says.

Wearing a suit proves that people will listen to you even if what you say is completely useless.

I’ve been experiencing tremors, anxiety, can’t sleep, waking up back to back. Quitting is hard but it’s the battle after that’s terrible. I just wanna feel normal again. I am almost 2 weeks in.

Update: its July 12th 2022 and I found out that along with the withdrawals I was experiencing, I was severely anemic. My advice, talk with your PCD and maybe have them do blood work to ensure the symptoms you are having is infact withdrawals and nothing else serious. I have no desire to go back to vaping or smoking. If you are still thinking about quitting, please do your body that justice and stop. If you’ve stopped, keep going. Your body will make those necessary changes for the better. You sure as hell don’t wanna catch Covid with smokers lungs. 💛💫

PS - I’m no longer having withdrawal symptoms at all. I’m asthmatic as well. So give your body some time to get through all that junk and I’ll assure you that you will love yourself for it. It feels good when I get asked “Are you a smoker.” And I can confidently say, “No, I quit in January.” And the reaction from that is gratifying. Makes me feel good that I accomplished a big hurtle like that.

Hello to everyone who is thinking of quitting! I am 31 years old, and I have been smoking 20–25 cigarettes on a daily basis for the last ten years. I don't remember if there was a day I didn't smoke. There were times when I was really sick for a day or two; I didn't care for that and continued smoking. Ten years ago, when I started smoking, it started with my childhood friends. Recently, I heard that they had all quit smoking. This thought made me try to quit. It's just so difficult, and I never thought about it. Its my third day, and I am feeling too much jaw clenching, irritability, couldn't focus, and something strange in my mouth. Now, all I think about is just cigs. But, I am adamant that I will quit it. I hope to stay strong and all the best to the new warriors against this evil.

I quit smoking once and quit dipping three times. Quitting involves the willful acceptance of discomfort, ruined sleep, and irritability as if it’s a personal challenge of grit. I’m also the kind of person who likes a grueling challenge. Half marathon in my backyard in the middle of summer without hardy any training, sure. This mentality has helped me with literally stopping nicotine usage at will and suffering through the withdrawals. Sure it sucks, but once you crest day 3, you’re closer to not wanting or caring about nicotine than you are to having used it.

Barely felt withdrawal symptoms when quitting cigarettes. I just had the craving for it but nothing major. I quit vaping cold turkey and this is the worst withdrawal symptoms I’ve experienced in my life.

Smoked for 35 years and am now smoke free for 2 months and one week. Everyday is a battle because the thought of a cig just pos onto your head. It's easier to manage but not for smokers like myself. I ate myself into an abcess though

As someone who’s tried a lot of stuff and a family line of alcoholics. Nicotine and bedtime weed are the hardest things to kick in my personal life. Luckily, I’ve been successful but I can see why people struggle.

Quitting is one of the easiest things I’ve done. I’ve done it several times just to prove to myself I could. Lasted a few months each time, now I’ve been nicotine free for a year, maybe 2. Don’t know, don’t care. I got other addictions 10x harder to quit.

Quit smoking a month ago. Holy smokes it's really hard, the cravings are just awful. When I workout I forget the cravings, so that helps, other than that, I gotta deal with that, it eventually will pass 😊

Does anyone else feels like they are blurrying out? like zoning out or unable to concertrate?
head gets heavy and i zone out like my eyes are unable to maintain focus.

if this is also a withdrawal then i'll stick to it.. if not.. then i want to check with my doctor to rule out other medical condition.. althought till now all medical reports are normal.

I say the key to quitting tobacco or nicotine in general is weed. If ur already a weed smoker just cut out the nicotine and smoke a joint or bowl everytime u feel the urge. I don’t have withdrawal symptoms just cravings worst in the morning time but after you just live life for a little bit you won’t even see the need for a cigarette

I quit cigarettes cold with no withdrawal issues. I quit vaping cold and the migraines were insane. I was rushed to the ER last week because I thought I was having an aneurysm. The pressure in my skull was unreal. Yes, it can be more than bad.

Nicotine withdrawal is a very hard thing to resist and it gets tough. It is definitely NOT easy to stay quit.
