FULL RECIPE BELOW

A few words come to mind when thinking about beef brisket: sumptuous, juicy, tender and, of course, hearty. That's why we're calling it one of our favorites and showing you how to make it in this episode.

Ingredients:
1, 5-6 lb. brisket of beef
1- Packet of instant onion soup mix
2-3 Tbsp. salad oil
1-1/2 qts. Beef Stock
8-10 oz chili sauce
1, 15 oz. can of tomato sauce
½ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup red wine
1 tsp. Black Pepper
1 – Tbsp. Sea Salt

1. Rinse meat and spread dry onion soup mix evenly onto brisket on all sides, allow to sit for an hour or so until room temperature.
2. In skillet heat oil and sear meat on all sides being careful not to burn seasoning. Add stock, and the sauces. Simmer.
3. Add vinegar and wine. Simmer again. Add black pepper.
4. Cover with tight fitting lid or foil. Add more stock or water of the level of the liquid is not halfway up the meat
5. Cook in a 350ºF oven until the meat is tender, approximately 2 1/2 hours.
6. Adjust seasoning as needed
7. Remove the meat from the sauce. Allow to cool enough to handle.
8. Carve and serve with sauce on top.

Thank you for this video, I've subscribed since I've recently found I really enjoy cooking. Now buying proper pans, knives and appliances such as a stand mixer are on my current wish list.
Could you please recommend a type of wine? I'm not a wine drinker so the store isle can be very intimidating.
Also will a very inexpensive wine work as well?
And Is chili sauce found in the Mexican foods isle?

In Culinary School when you see onions that look burnt it is called: Caramelizing. He even mentioned it, but this is why caramelizing means to cook the onions down!.
