Nen is the best power system, the fact you can make vows like that is so cool and makes nen seem so versatile and that if you are strong enough you can become immensely stronger than what we've seen. Mereum is good example, he was super strong physically but because he was born so strong, he already able to one of strongest nen attacks in show, imagine if he had time to develop even more with his nen.

I think Gon's insane power isn't only technical ..more like with his personality nature, the rage and his emotional nature which some would explain as immature..which yes it shows sometimes..however, Gon's unpredictable nature, that it drove him out of control..then his power and abilities..will definitely be Unpredictable..unlike Killua, who's more intellectual..

Gon would most likely not be able to beat Meruem, but the whole point of Pitou mentioning that he could “sink his fangs into the king” is that Gon could feasibly kill the king or heavily injure him under the right circumstances.
