Compared to today where CEO’s fire thousands over Zoom this is red carpet treatment.

It's true, people worry about their kids whenever time to downgrade comes along, but kids are resilient and are quick to adapt. If you tell them that you lost your lucrative job, they'd probably feel more sorry for you than themselves. The people that find it hard to adjust are the adults.

This is one of my favorite scenes. Humans believe they are making a difference at the company they are with... Never realizing they are disposable. BE. SOMETHING. BETTER. THAN. DISPOSABLE.

Most companies today don't even have this kind of negotiation process. One day you go to work, the HR and security will show up by your cube and tell you to collect all personal belongings, then walk you out of the building with 2 weeks pay. Good luck.

I have no idea why people are hating on this guy so much. His statements are spot on. It's people who give responsibility to their companies that suck.

Getting laid off from my job was the best thing that ever happened to me. Finally got me off my ass to start my own law practice.

This is why you need 3-6 months savings. So if you lose your job your not screwed.

"Says here you used to direct music. What did they pay you to give up on your dreams?"
"I got fired from that for being a massive asshole."
"Oh.."
"I going to throw a chair at your head now."
And then he went to Oz. The end.

This is pretty accurate though. The company you work for is not obligated to keep you employed. They are obligated to make a profit. If that means layoffs then so be it. The only person responsible for making money for you to live is you.

A lot of truth to this. My uncle who was an exotic car mechanics was supposed to take over ownership of the exotic euro dealer he worked for, but he got fucked in the end by the family. He knew his real passion was always to be in the medical field, so he decided to go back to school, in his 50s, to become a doctor.

He now works as an engineer for the railroad lol. And he gets kick ass pay and tons of time off. He couldnt be happier.

Unless you actually see Clooney and Kendrick in a shot with someone then they werent together. All the people reacting were people who had actually been laid off recently and were given the chance to say how they feel into the camera by the director.

Bruce Willis would have done a better job with this role. In response to the cooking quest comment. Bruce would have asked Clooney,   "haven't you always had the wish, to learn how to fly?" Then gotten up and threw George out the fucken window. Followed by asking the bimbo if she wanted to fly or fuck.

This isn't even a negotiation process. It's pretty one sided. I wonder if people even do this as a consulting service.

JK Simmons played the best in this movie hands down!

This is not a negotiation process. The guy was already fired.
