How to Treat Cat Acne at Home (Dirty Cat Chin)

You know those cat chin blackheads you see? They are called at chin acne/ feline acne. I found a very gentle and effective way to clean cat acne that's built up, it doesn't hurt or scare them- in fact, it put some of my cats in a trance. (Go a few paragraphs down to see ointments used)

Cat acne on chin sometimes can be a sign of dirty food dishes, or stress etc... It is worth looking into despite it has been cleaned out to keep it from coming back (and to know the exact reason for it is good also).

For this feline acne treatment in terms of how to treat cat acne under chin, all you need is a clean, soft bristle toothbrush. In the video, I mentioned an ointment to treat the spot after brushing the cat acne under chin. I'm sure you can use other things but I recommend this one for it is quite mild.

Hope this cat acne home treatment works for your dirty cat chin. (Feline acne in the chin area) is a common place for them to be found. Just be gentle and patient, please feel free to send me a message and tell me how it worked for you.

Note: a lot of people wonder if the black dots on the cat's chin will ever disappear for good. From my experience yes, but it's not just from physically cleaning it... As mentioned got to look at the underlying cause as well~

also to prevent it remember to clean their bowl more often!! also if your cat if gets acne easily and eats wet food try to clean their chin in case it got wet and try to find a more wide bowl so their chin doesn’t touch it

I’ve seen so many videos of people removing their cats acne with a flea comb and it makes me cringe SO BAD. They’re being so rough with the brush and forgetting that this is actually painful for the cat and can cause so much discomfort. I’ve seen people even apply hydrogen peroxide which makes it WORSE! It causes so much irritation and can even cause or worsen an infection! This method is BY FAR THE BEST ONE IVE SEEN! A soft disinfectant toothbrush is gentle and doesn’t cause more irritation and can even soothe the cat. I’m no expert, but it’s kindof common sense! Maybe even applying a warm wet compress before brushing to loosen the blackhead but calm the skin and inflammation with the warmth may also help! All I’m saying, don’t use a flea brush, a toothbrush seems so much more gentle, and just as effective! AMAZING VIDEO!

Love the toothbrush idea. I can see how enjoyable it is for your kitty. I did see another channel and vet was speaking of cat acne. She said to stop using plastic bowls to feed the cat for both dry, wet food and water. I have had cats with cat acne. Looking back I do believe I used plastic. I now have 3 kittys and none have any acne. I is older and he did have before (when I was using plastic). None since I use ceramic or melamine bowls.

Using a cat shampoo and a soft toothbrush cleans up the acne easy. Then just wipe their chins dry and make sure to give them lots of verbal approval and pets so they feel better :)

My cat used to have chin acne too, at that time I didn’t know it was acne, I just thought those were dirt. I fluffed his chin gently while he was sleeping with just with my index finger and they came out easily. It was probably due to his plastic plate, since then I changed to glass plate.
