"If you're incapable of violence, not being violent is not a virtue." Great statement.

I'd rather be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.
This is basically what Jordan is explaining.

Dr Peterson is a humble gangster. You can’t beat him

Controlled aggression can be a beautiful thing. I fully agree with Jordan.

Jordan's work has created so much hope, not only in men, but in the women who love and need us. Such an impactful man.

That is a very well said statement " it takes strength to have control".

I love how well he handles people trying to twist his words.

I’ve been taking martial arts classes for about a year now (BJJ, wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai) and it’s one of the most difficult things I’ve done. It beats you up physically, mentally, and in ways my 2 masters degree couldn’t. I’ve learned more getting kicked, punched, clinched, and choked out while sparring than what any school taught me. You learn a lot about yourself doing martial arts and that makes you grow!

And I agree that you should have the capacity to be dangerous but have the control to act on it. Again- not necessarily mean you have to be cruel but it’s in your terms knowing you can be dangerous when needed to protect yourself, your family, friends, community.

In todays world be weary of those men who take on the mindset of “I am harmless therefore I am good” cus as JP stated you’re truly weak. I know this cus that’s who I was thinking I was good but that’s the easy route. It’s takes strength to do the opposite “I am dangerous therefore the potential for cruelty exist” and that in Itself takes courage and power to exercise that freedom whether for good or evil.

If you don't accept your aggression and learn to dominate it yourself, it becomes anonymous and dominates you.

The very last statement he made was absolutely overwhelmingly significant - so much so that most people would have no idea the powerful message he's making! It's brilliant!!!!

"No, you should be capable of it but that doesn't mean you should use it. There's nothing to you otherwise. If you're not a formidable force there's no morality in your self control. If you're incapable of violence, not being violent isn't a virtue. People who teach martial arts know this well. If you learn a martial art you learn to be dangerous but you simultaneously learn to control it. Both of those come together and the combination of that capacity for danger and the capacity for control is what brings about the virtue. Otherwise you confuse weakness with moral virtue. "I'm harmless therefore I'm good." No. That isn't how it works. If you're harmless you're just weak, and if you're weak you're not going to be good. You can't be. Because it takes strength to be good." -Jordan Peterson

Jordan could be one the most heavily quoted people on this planet with the insight that this man as constantly bestowed upon us. John is and has been one of my absolute favorite people and has some of the best investigative minds on this planet. Tremendous amount of respect for both of these brilliant and amazing of creations.

The way Jordan's gaze, tone and body language mirrored his message when the interviewer asked 'competent and dangerous?' in the beginning almost felt like he was trying to exude dangerousness the way someone who's waiting for a provocation would.

I really wish I listened to Jordan Peterson in my teenage years on this subject. It definitely would have helped me a lot to be a stronger and more stern man as a grew. I was a very soft, emotional, and weak kid thinking being soft spoken and kind was the way to be but in this world as a man it doesn’t work that way. All it did was led me to being bullied and taken advantage of. I’m in my late 20s now and have changed as a person but I look back and regret the previous me and wish I was better.

0:41 profound. deep. and true.
every single one of you that hears that message should seriously take it to heart.
it is that way of thinking alone. that has kept what you all call "society" alive.
it is that reason it is collapsing before your eyes too.

I think Jordan understands this too.
