I had a teacher in high school who taught golden mean, that was around 1956. his name was Koslosky. im so glad you have no idea, this was inspirational and I was thinking about it a lot lately. and here you are, thanks a big big bunch and in closing, man I love your work.

Excellent! I learned something. I've been painting for 40 years and I am always learning and I studied under some truly great masters, Pearlstien and others. Thank you! Thank God traditional painting is coming back Max Ginsburg and Irwin Greenberg always spoke of how someday it would return.

Probably the best explanation of the Fibonacci Curve, I have ever seen or read.

The fabulously important subject matter is discussed here so interestingly understandably.

Finally, I understand this. Great explanation of the golden mean. I've been researching it for a long time and couldn't quite understand how to use it. Now I finally do. Thank you.

Stefan, this is so much important information. I did learn this back in the late 60's. I created a hard edge op art painting based on the Golden Mean formula. Thanks for the information.

Very interesting. The golden mean is tied to the nature of a Fibonnacci sequence also. You can draw a "golden curve" within your divisions of the golden mean and the end result would be the spiral of a Nautilus shell. Very cool stuff.

I cut canvas panels to the golden ratio on a table saw.
They need gesso!
My framer often has left over cuts and will make inexpensive frames for me.

This is an excellent lesson. Thanks so much. I know the rule of thirds and may never get more complicated than that. Or, maybe I will. You made a topic that seems too complex easy to understand. I wish I could paint on linen canvases manufactured by the top of the line companies, but cost is an issue. I will try this on my cotton canvases that are definitely not golden mean.
