I was always told in the army. Take care of your feet and they will take care of you.

If you can’t fit chemical warmers in your boots by your toes or you don’t want to take them off, you can place the warmer on the front part of your foot just below the ankle. There is a major artery right there that supplies the foot with blood. You can even take your pulse there. Warm that artery and you’ll warm your foot.

Powdered dry fireweed works better with less ''side effects''. Old native trick. Changing socks out is still the best method.

They make cayenne pepper capsules lol. It’s amazing at keeping me warm when I go out for snow duty or ice fishing

You should also look at the reusable warmers. It's a gel pack with a metal disk inside. You click the disk, and the gel starts to crystallize. This gives off a decent amount of heat. To "recharge" them, simply place them in hot water until the crystal becomes gel again. They can be reused nearly indefinetly. You just have to be sure not to overheat the plastic pouch the gel is in. That plastic has a really low melting point, and any water mixed with the gel makes it stop working. I have a couple I picked up at a conference about 10 years ago that we still use when we go camping.

Battery operated socks works fantastic for my husband when hes out hunting. He uses the handwarmers in his gloves and he has a heated coat that heats the back and front that he can adjust to low, med, high. Absolutely 100% worth the money. Socks was $50 coat was $275

When using those hand warmers I’ve always been taught it’s best to put them on top of your hands/feet so it warms up the veins going to your hands and toes

Wool socks work as well. Even if your feet get wet, your feet stay warm. I learned that in the Scouts.

Cayenne in the socks is an time tested skiing/snowboarding cold weather solution for feet getting cold, sprinkle the cayenne INSIDE the socks before putting them on. Keeps feet warm all day. Great video!

The pepper thing works for sure. I always have hot stuff when I winter camp. I will not ruin my Darn Tough socks with deodorant. Lol good ideas for sure.

Fun fact: cayenne pepper also has antibiotic properties and aids in resisting illness. Many Oregon Trail and LDS/ Mormon pioneer trains had cayenne on them, and those who had it fared much better than those who didn't.

Keep your core warm and the blood flowing to your extremities will be warm.
When very cold your body restricts blood flow to your extremities to maintain your vital organs.

Cornstarch goes a long way toward preventing chafing on the feet and anywhere else. What a lot of people don't realize is that you don't need to buy cornstarch body powders with perfume in them. You can use pure cornstarch from the kitchen shelf. It's the same stuff only without the perfume and a whole lot cheaper. It prevents chafing and absorbs odors better than talcum and feels better too.

The toe warmers are excellent!! I always keep a hot hands on me- especially when I’m walking my dogs- for the occasional frosty paw.
