Actually, drinking alcohol is the worst idea. It's ok if you stay inside, but if you plan to go outside - don't drink alcohol.

Layers of fat is just as good. Just like the man demonstrated at the end.

Everyone in this video was adorable. Keep warm, snow bunnies! It's cold here, too, and I wish I lived in a house with a fireplace. For now, we bundle and cuddle and drink some mulled wine! :)

I hate it when the temperature is below 0 for more than a week yet there is no snow.

*Ten or twelve layers is the BEST tip! You won't be able to bend any of your joints, fit through doors or be able to sit in a car or a chair. So of course you can only "stand still" and "stay inside"!*

Use a hiking layering system of thermal base layers, fleeces, dry quick synthetic trousers and thick socks and waterproof footware... hat, balaclava and gloves with a waterproof breathable jacket. Eat before going out and take regular snacks.

Hahahaha Serbia is not a "cold country", esp if you get up to 45º in the summer, it's just a colder winter this year than usual

I went to Iceland and only had the outfit I was wearing and the one I packed. Key for me was bringing the appropriate clothes and layering (merino items are a must for me plus anything that is moisture wicking). When out on my tours I had a sports bra, tank top, base layer, fleece, shell, rain jacket. Two pairs of leggings on, merino wool socks, water resistant faux fur lined boots (this was the only boots I could find last minute). Beanie (not merino wool, wool gloves, and while out on one tour I picked up a merino wool buff. The coldest it got was -10 at the lagoon we went too people who seemed dressed warmer then me were freezing and everyone was trying to huddle in the coffee/gift shop tbh I was a little cold as -10 was a new for me but I was warmer then 75% of the people there.

No, You can still go out in the cold weather and wear a T-Shirt and shorts if you likd the cold and aren't influenced by the warming of the earth.

or have your sense of feeling removed so you never ever have to feel cold again, or anything again, even pain.

Thanks BBC, i dont know what i would do without you, lived here for 37 years and this is the first time i have ever experienced a bit of snow. It really never crossed my mind to do the obvious. Really bbc, do you think we are stupid?

Also plenty of thermals.
European governments should start issuing free thermals. Like food banks offer free food.
