It will effect input lag and yo wont be able to use actuall full screen exclussive mode so if set up propperly you will lose alot having 2 displays. Ofc this will mostly impact pro players that care about those things

yeah it kills performance....
if you set your 2 or 3 monitor on high fps your power draw goes hard up and you lose to 10% Performance and mirco fps drops

So you should set your 2 or 3 monitor on 60hz and your main monitor to 144

140 fps crysis 4k max settings with dual monitors. 200-240 never dipping below 200 fps with only 1 monitor active.
Anecdotal and an old game but interesting nonetheless.
