I think the most realistic dual monitor setup is to have 1x 27-32" primary monitor and THEN 1x 22-24" secondary monitor.
Primary for editing and/or solo gaming and secondary for streaming

For me personally, there are good for when I need to edit on one screen and have folders on the other or have YouTube open. It helps to have to have so many windows over each other.

Personally as of yesterday I love it because I can play rocket league split screen with my brother without having to buy him a copy of the game and without a weird resolution for each person.

I think they can be good for productivity, but I don’t like those bezels for gaming - that’s ultrawide territory ✌️ I prefer just a single 16:9 myself, that’s what almost everything is formatted for.

When i'm doing something like troubleshooting games and I watch a tutorial, I hate going back and forth to look at what I have to do, that is why I use monitors.

Having two monitors is very nice for productivity.
However in my case having two monitors (one main and one at side) gives neck pain and makes me dizzy after some time of constant use.
So, I have a second monitor, but it is mainly switched off and I only attach the cables when I really need it.

Just set up a dual monitor setup yesterday. Definitely think the advantages of dual monitor setup outweighs the cons. But, really helpful video, thanks!

As a laptop user, it's a no brainier. I love my 1440p, 155 hz, 27" monitor and use it for everything but it's nice to be able to open up the laptop screen when I want it and put it away when I don't.

I had to get the same set up I had at work because I'm a data analysis and dual monitors are a must. My work laptop is nice but it's very small, however with dual screen and the lap top acting as a third screen I can get reports and analysis done more efficiently.

Been using dual monitor setup for 8+ years (I'm a multi tasker by nature) I've gotten so use to the extra screen space using a single display desktop/laptop annoys the hell out of me

I'm having this issue right now. I haven't used an external monitor for years since my Windows days. Now as a mac user I'm loving the idea of using an external monitor with my macbook. So I ended up purchasing both the apple studio display and viewfinity S9 with the intention of picking only 1. I tested them out side by side, and was unexpectedly blown away at how nice it was to have 2 monitors. After that excitement wore off, I'm torn over what to do. The ASD is double the price of the S9. I purchased both of them open box and saved some decent cash. The S9 is more or less the same as the ASD, it's just made of plastic and the speakers are much worse, volume and brightness controls are to be done on an external remote, or a button on the back. But still, those trade-offs are worth it because after taxes it's literally half price. They are both 5K and resolution is exactly the same. This monitor only came out August 2023 so lots of ppl aren't aware of it as you'd expect. Samsung literally designed it to attract apple customers. And it's awesome. The stand is awesome, it can be lowered, highered, tilted, and even rotated into portrait orientation. You wanna control the height on the ASD? Well that's another $566CDN after taxes. It's a scam. Now, when i see these 2 monitors next to each other on my large table, it feels and looks overwhelming. It feels fatiguing to be in front of 2 large monitors. It feels like a relief to just have 1 monitor. And when I put my 16" macbook pro on a stand next to one of the monitors, it feels and looks awesome. Yet still I'm torn. I got such a good price on both of them. My brain says just go with the viewfinity s9, we're literally talking half price. The only reason why the ASD monitor looks SLIGHTLY better is because it has a glass/glossy display. Otherwise the monitors basically look identical. I just hate that the ASD is soo expensive. I don't know if I should keep both, keep just the S9, or just keep the ASD. I am so so torn. And to make it worse, I am one day away from being able to return the S9 :'(

It's a productivity thing for sure, I love working with two monitors. Using only one, I relate. I had to go back to two lol

I used to work with 2 monitors from my previous job, they were great and now my new job since it works with one monitor, (which is a laptop and a small screen) I felt like I missed a second for other tasks. Due to the job positions being at Work from Home, I had to use my first Viewsonic 19 inch 1366 x 768, as a second monitor, it helped a lot between that laptop with 1080p but hard to read due to it's small screen. Now I bought an LG 22 inch 1080, and both monitors are 75hz all for my personal and work, so it's much better to me imo. One is IPS and other is TN, it doesn't really matter aside the fact that it definitely has boosted productivity for me.
