The closet thing isn’t weird; it’s just creating certainty on a deeper psychological level.
The whole thing with the street is accurate and probably safe. All of our parents told us that drivers couldn’t see little kids.
The thing with the Minecraft videos I perhaps unusual, but not shameful.
And the thing with the dogs is the most normal part of the video.

The closet thing makes sense. I have the fear of sleep. Its the fear of being vulnerable of not knowing whats going on around you while you sleep, and you can't control what's going on, and knowing you can't do anything about it.

I do the same thing with the closet door. So relatable. I close it before I go to bed, or even before it's dark outside. It's kind of a different story why I do it, though. I believe in the paranormal, and those that know about it, know that closets are said to be portals. Also, I've had a paranormal experience involving an open closet, so that's part of the reason.
