Recently I got asked how I like to prep the week of a BJJ competition.

Honestly, I prepare the same way I did as a young Wrestler.

In this video, I'll give you some insight on my comp week training, and explain to some of you less experienced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors (you don't need to be a pro) how you're probably making 1 of 2 big mistakes the week of comp.

Again, this is only my opinion. Nothing else. Do with it what you will.

I typically compete better when I go hard the week of competition

I believe the answer as to why you get tired so fast after a week off of training is simply deconditioning. The heart is a muscle and gets weaker with inactivity, making it harder to pump the necessary amount of oxygen into our bodies. Hope that helps!!
