First bike was a 750, my friends attracted the eyes of the law and when they saw me in town they followed me and by the time I stalled out for the 3rd time at the light they said “I wasn’t one of the ones they were looking for” lmao

Bought a zx4r last year as my first bike. I have a huge love for 90s small cc screamers and wished we have more in the states. I was looking for zx6r at the time and as soon as I heard there will be a 400cc inline 4 coming, I put my deposit down that day. Best choice I ever made. It’s no where fast as it’s big brother bikes but just being able to ring it out all the way and not be going super dangerous speed is so much fun. If I had gotten the zx6r, I would have been so scared of just trying to over extend myself with it. It would have been easy to get in a sketchy situation with just the wrong input or anything like that. When I’m on the zx4r, I can just ring it out on the twisties and run through the gears just because how forgiving it is. Best choice I made in buying for a first bike!!

My friend from school just died yesterday from a motorcycle accident. I can't believe it. He rode every day. I pray for him and the family he left behind.

I was looking at an r7 or an mt-07 for my first bike… my friend taught me how to ride this past weekend on a grom… I am now looking at a ninja 400 or an r3 because I know I’ll be happy with that for a while. I’m hoping to be buying one within the month or 2 🤞

Got a GSX8R as my starter bike. Keep it in B mode for now….. I will say that if you aren’t reckless and follow fundamentals and ride safely and not distracted, IT is a GREAT bike that even beginners can use. The break-in is 4500 RPM so that helps to not be crazy if you stick to it. Take the MSF, Practice slow maneuvers in parking lots, get your basics down. With those things the bike is AWESOME. There are some quirks with the downshifting on the bike and the quick shifter. Getting stuck in neutral and knowing to let out clutch a bit in second to get it in gear and then downshifting solves that problem. But have putt on 500+ miles and spent time in the twisties. It handles well and is very comfortable. Top speed so far is 70 MPH.

First bike for me was a yamaha tenere 700. Yea i didnt plan that but it just happened. Took it off road trail riding, and its sweet. Took it on a 4k mile road trip and it was also awesome.

My first was an en650 vulcan. My brother in law has a gsx8r, it rides so smooth. If I get the giveaway bike I'm going to learn a group advanced with him. Gives me a chance to learn one a bike I'm already somewhat familiar with, and puts me learning under a guy that has been riding professionally for almost a decade.

I found it to be the opposite, starting off with a cbr500r hit me with a big loan and I was bored fast. I'm currently on a cbr650 and the inline four is so much fun and I feel like the bike is worth the money put down. I would recommend the 650 over any twin to a beginner.

Same with cars, I'm glad I really mastered the manuevering of smaller powered vehicles before I got behind the wheel of v8s. I would defintely say because I did so I'm a far more skilled and competitive driver than most on the track.

Started on the "beloved" cbr500r. Rode that for 2 years then went to a r6. I never quite tamed that. Loved that bike but it was terrifying on the road till I sold it. Just got back on two wheels with a xsr900 and absolutely love it. Unfortunately less than a month of owning it, got rear ended at low speed and am now waiting to find out the damage. It seems to be minor but you never know

Actually got a gsx 8r, in yellow also xD, as my 2nd bike after I was in an unfortunate accident on my N400. By no means do I think I'm a well seasoned rider but like you said, I do feel more confident and am able to push my bike more

This week i signed a purchasing contract for a Svartpilen 401 2023model. KTM Germany offers the "old" ones at a huge discount. 4490€ instead of 6199€. The Husqvarna isn't even the smallest bike i own.
And if you ever come to the town Huskvarna visit the Husqvarna Factory museum. They have a fine Bike collection there.

GSX-8S is My first bike I’ve had for a year now, 2600 miles. No lie when I first got it I had the front end come up on me like a foot 3 times in 1 second at a light. Best bike ever tho

I wouldn't consider the GSX-R an excessively powerful bike with only 80 horsepower. I started riding in the 70s on a Triumph 650 quite powerful for that time and gradually moved up to bigger bills as bikes became more powerful about a year ago I bought a new ZX14R. I've owned many very powerful bikes. What I've found over the years is there all different with different handling capabilities even though I've been on 1000CC plus bikes for many years buying a new bike is always a learning experience
