⁠I think the biggest factor that harms the pacing is that in the current climate in the animation industry they probably couldn’t guarantee they’d get another season. That means they have to play it both ways, setting things up for future seasons while also telling a complete story arc in the eight episodes they were given so that if the show gets cut they don’t leave things on a cliffhanger.

Adam didn’t move up the extermination date because of Charlie’s proposal. The meeting was to inform hell that the extermination was being pushed up, and Charlie just also threw in her proposal during the meeting.

The "Why is Charlie estranged from Lucifer" is not simple, but this is what I am getting:
Lilith had Charlie most of the time after the divorce and Charlie and Lucifer have grown apart a bit. He's given up on redemption himself, having tried it before and been shut down, with heaven refusing to even listen. After Charlie sets out trying to fulfil the dream he'd shared with her she hasn't been in contact with her dad much. Lucifer last called her five months ago and he is shocked that she would even call him! It seems he's the only one who's been reaching out, and she doesn't know how neglected he feels.
The whole episode when she calls him is all about how excited he is that she finally reaches out, and not only that, she asks him to come over!

I used to have a similar distance between me and my dad. Without the fantastical setting of course.

Solid analysis, but, I can explain the ducks, or at least, provide a solid theory. Notice in the flashback during 'More than Anything' notice that one of the few happy memories we see between Charlie and Lucifer involves a rubber duck. The ducks are him trying to reclaim the happiness of that moment while he's still fighting off depression (which apparently can come with hyperfixation as a symptom).

I’m with you on Niffty: if her character is expanded on in the future that’s fine, but I kinda love the idea of her just being a happy little psycho who ended up making a deal with Alastor because it sounded like fun

Honestly it really frustrates me how a season of television is now only eight episodes. It’s not just Hazbin Hotel that is hurt by it. Percy Jackson and ESPECIALLY Wheel of Time needed far more time to tell their respective stories.

I'm not a Viziepop fan, but I am super proud of her and her crew on making this a reality. How many of us content creators dreamed of a chance like this, and Vizie is living it. I hope her all the best and no randomly deleting her show because of "tax write offers" like Infinity Train and its creator had to experience.

I think the only real issue with Hazbin Hotel is that it’s too short, which I blame Amazon Prime animation studios for rather than Vivziepop and her team

I’d argue that Charlie is prideful, just not in the same way as Adam. She’s a sheltered princess who has no idea how the world works. She believes in herself and her vision so much that she has almost no foresight. She treats sinners like children and uses summer camp bonding games as rehabilitation instead of actual therapy. She thinks she knows what’s best for them, just like her dad when he decided to give humans free will. She has the best of intentions, but the girl is still the Devil’s daughter.
