The Hazbin Hotel Lucifer Controversy is Pathetic

So a bunch of drama happened surrounding hazbin hotel and vivziepop and this time it involves the new design of Lucifer.I was originally going to ignore this situation but it quickly spiralled out of control. There’s been alot of misinformation and it led to vivziepop getting harassed and making public tweets about it. Like always i’m going to go through a timeline of events and then after i’ll give my thoughts on it.

Like always remember not to harass anyone mentioned in the video. This video is for purely educational purposes and to discuss the situation.

To everyone criticizing Viv for creating a "fanart bait character", I'd like to present to you principle 12 of the animation bible: Appeal. A character must be appealing to it's target audience in both animation and design. So, maybe, if the characters don't seem appealing to you, *you are not the target audience*

I find very funny and frustrating at the same time that they say "hE doEsN't lOok LiKe SaTaN" when they are two different characters 💀. I am also very sure they haven't even watched the pilot and they say "they are built like twigs" ignoring the existance of not only background characters but also MAIN ones (this mostly being in Helluva Boss) . By far the most stupid Hellaverse controversy btw lol.

I saw a lot of anti viv people saying "Hazbin hotel fans stop attacking minors challenge"
A lot of it was people ages 14-17 attacking Viv, sending death threats, saying she's awful for whatever reason - and claiming that they're being attacked when people counter their claims with legitimate evidence against their statements

There was this one 17 yo who was going around saying "Vivziepop hurts the neurodivergent community because of the use of a slur in the helluva boss pilot"
Me, as a neurodivergent person (I have autism), decided that I have a say on the matter because it is a slur directed at people like me. I personally found it funny and had no issue with it. (Though I completely understand if others don't).
I stated just as much to the person, that I found it funny and as someone with autism I personally had no problem with it. I have a say in it just as much as them.
This person proceeded to post a long thread about how "An adult is attacking me! I had to delete the tweet because of harrassment! Good job attacking a disabled minor!" ... None of which was true.

The people hating on Viv in this situation actively refuse to hear anyone with an opposing opinion out, and actively refuse to educate themselves despite people giving them the opportunity to do so. These are people are incapable of handling what they dish out and it's astonashing.

If you're going to "critique" something, you need to be able to handle counters to it. If you can't make your bed and lie in it, you're in no position to be giving criticism of any sort.

There are so many content creators that have done far, far worse than Viv ever would, yet they choose to attack and damage the mental health of this mostly innocent indie animator who could have potential to bring about a new age of adult cartoons. And the fact that they're doing this to a queer woman of color makes this even more disturbing.

She deserves none of this, and I just really hope she is getting all the support she needs. Like why the fuck is this a thing? Why does everyone want to crucify her? She's done nothing but work her ass off with her teams to make genuinely fantastic ground breaking content at an indie level honestly I've never seen before.

I think lucifer's redesign is fine and the people that are taking a dump on vivziepop need to take a chill pill in fact they need to take an entire bottle of chill pills. While it's okay to give constructive criticism the way people when about giving vivziepop constructive criticism was awful and if people are gonna get constantly angry at vivziepop all the time for no reason other than "ViVzIePoP Bad" then they need to go outside and touch grass.
