That BF in the last story is the king of fumbling. You're telling me that you've dated someone for SEVEN YEARS and **still** think that there's a chance they're using you for a visa? If they really wanted a visa, they would not have waited in a relationship for 7 years without being more pushy. Yeesh. 7 years is a long time. But apparently for some it's not long enough, nevermind the fact that for a lot of people that will be a 10th of their entire life.

The OP in Story 1 found the rare company where HR is actually a decent place - not the usual "We will sacrifice you to protect the company" department. I'm actually shocked.

Always remember that HR works for the company to protect the company.
The reason they "helped" OP on the first story is because they protect the company by preventing OP to file a S harrasment lawsuit against the boss and the company.
DOCUMENT EVERYTHING

OP in story 1 is lucky. When my bosses boss sexually assaulted me, HR told me that if I made a formal report I’d be blacklisted from my industry and nothing would happen to him.

Story 1: Company did everything right. Sadly, it's uncommon.
Story 2: "I want to be the provider" = "I want you trapped and dependant on me so you can't leave and NEED me to survive while I can feel better about myself".

Story 3: Imagine letting your ego get in the way of being in a relationship with someone who loves you *and* has good job prospects. OP's ex is an idiot.

Last story: the guy is a major idiot. Who cares who makes more money than the other? You’re together for the long haul. You’re a team with your partner…simple as that. This is definitely how ego kills relationships.

Back when I was in my 20s, my boss' boss' boss informed me if I didn't sleep with him I wouldn't get a raise... delivered like he was ordering from a fast food restaurant. I told him I wasn't aware he was authorized to high 6 figure salary increases. His response was "well, now we know your price". I pointed out it must be embarrassing to know he can't afford me.

I got the same raise as everyone else. It was a state COLA (cost of living adjustment).

And just like that OP is the one who got away. The beautiful successful woman, who moved all the way to Paris after their breakup. I feel sorry for the next girl that idiot dates

So if Levi had just backed off, stopped the harassment and whatnot, he'd still have his job. 🤣 It sounds like OP wasn't going to say anything due to Levi's previous comments about the boss. Did he narc on himself because he was butthurt over not getting the 'yes'? That's fucking hilarious 🤣

3- You’ve been with him for SEVEN YEARS! If a seven-year relationship isn't enough to prove that you love him, then why stay together? No one is putting up with someone for seven years just for a green card!

Story 1: I had an older woman who worked with me and she sexually harassed me for over a year and half until she quit. She would constantly say weird compliments, try and give me sexual advice (when I didn’t even ask for it), she grabbed one of the handheld devices we use to clock in out of my back pocket without asking. I never reported because I’m a male I didn’t think anyone would listen.

Story 1. Yes, it's true. HR is there to protect the company... from a Massive lawsuit of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, discrimination, corruption and likely a few crimes I've not thought of... so getting rid of liabilities is their job. LEVI is the liability, all that's needed is more that word against word. Remember that if you're in OPs shoes... get it in writing/photograpic/video always and document everything.

Story 2: Entitled POS "friend" you got the OP, just keep doing what you do OP, if you don't just wanna go and loose the "friend". Personally I'd just go no contact with her, if the others wanna be stupid and ignorant, let them. Never accept toxic/entitled people in your social grp, it's not worth the drama.

Story 3: Omg a MAN earning less than a Woman? That's so unacceptable. What a weak pathetic man OPs now Ex is. Now how much you earn is the LEAST important part of a relationship in my view but if the family income is higher it's better than lower. Leads at least to less financial stress.

Those same friends in story 3 I guarantee that they will laugh the bf out of the room when he tells them that he and OP broke up

Ladies and gentlemen, as soon as your boss brings up their sex life, report them.

Last story: "hey babe, you are to much of a catch, mind being a bit worse so I look good."

Red pill bros always complain that women "only date guys for their resources". Which, yeah, there are some who are exactly like that, but most women don't actually care as long as the two of them are able to live comfortably. The issue is that a lot of dudes get insecure if they aren't the "breadwinner" of the relationship and either pull crap like this, or they start taking their insecurities out on the woman. It's frustrating! Like most things, we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.

S2: BU-friends: “Mooch isn’t that bad, she just has a hard time going out with people. You’re just saying things to make her look awful. Maybe if you weren’t so mean to her and help her once in a while, she wouldn’t be acting that way towards you.”

AU-friends: “That trip was just awful!! Mooch was such a nightmare! She barely paid for anything, and continued to act like a spoiled brat the whole time! Why didn’t you tell us how horrible Mooch was?? You should’ve told us before how much Mooch was going to ruin the whole trip for us!!”

Last OP: make sure you get French benefits Pay may be a bit less, but if you factor in the 6 weeks vacation, that alone is 10% pay difference (compared to US unpaid leave)
