Does a ‘no boundaries’ approach encourage children to be independent, or do they benefit from some guidance?

Honestly, as long as they are getting proper nutrition as it seems they are then I agree with this. However, they should definitely be made to clean up after themselves. It allows the children to have a sense of independence, just as long as they aren't eating sugar 24/7.

Who told you that?

What happens when they become adults and somebody tells them no? Also, our brains don't fully stop developing until the age of approx 25, so you're asking a child with an underdeveloped brain to make the right choice without the hardwire or life experience to do so. Good luck with the first time they don't get what they want as adults.

What makes me sad is that they think they're doing good but in 15 years their kids are going to hate them. They aren't going to have the skills and drive necessary to thrive in the real world

Well even if the kid has access to fruit and veg why would they choose it over McDonalds or crisps? When puberty kicks in they'll have to adapt very quickly otherwise run the risk of becoming very fat since what they eat has always been their choice

"A little bit of everything is good for ya!" Not if you're 11 years old.

That was a wasted video. Ended without knowing a consensus of whether it is a good or bad style. My son is 9 and since his birth he’s been an absolute nightmare of “I don’t want it, I don’t want to do it”, and tantrums off the charts. I’ve stopped spanking, I stopped screaming, I’ve stopped forcing every issue to the point that I’m having the anxiety. He’s been kicked out of two schools, almost a third, if not for Covid 19, I’m certain he’d be discharged from a third. He just refuses to participate. Refuses to listen, wants to play constantly. I’ve sat him down and told him, I refuse to fight anymore. I’m 63 years old, with a heart condition.. If he doesn’t want to learn.. so be it. You’ll grow up, you won’t be successful, and you won’t know how to do anything. If any of you out in comments land, think I and his mother haven’t exhausted every idea, you’d be wrong. Tutors quit, summer classes, after school classes.. private school.. public school, ..

ok...Not bashing any parent....my belief kids....your business because i have NEVER claimed to be the BEST parent and I have made A LOT of mistakes as a parent. But the real world doesn't give you so many choices to chose from...sometimes there is NO choice. I could just see me a parent and a the choice of snack to broccoli spears and celery sticks OR chocolate donuts, chocolate chip cookies and brownies? Milk or soda? And I was in child care for years....and the choice of food outcome was always the will always go for the sugar first.

Oh, yeah, so she can grow up and run off to join ISIL? Maybe have a go at being a drugs mule for a charming Kiwi fella? Winding up living on the dole, and possibly even, god forbid, vote Labour? I'll be sticking with the hickory switch for my little girl, thank you kindly

So they can get anything and everything, but they don't have to do anything for it and will never hear no...
I'm sure that will make great adults, partners and employees 😐

I look after children that have grown up with no boundaries and have the free run.. nearly every kid in each home has come from a similar background to the one portayed here. Good luck to whoever thinks this will work sure ill be the guy to take all the shit when your kid decides to smash your house up because you said no once 👍
