I really enjoyed your video! I am a commercial grower. I have a half-acre okra garden. I plant several thousand seeds each year. I pre-germinated my seeds very similarly, by placing them inside a sealed Ziplock bag with a moist paper towel. I keep them in a warm place (Usually my pocket). They germinate within 12 to 18 hours, then, I direct sow them into my garden. That method and the one you use get very high rates of germination. You are 100% correct to space your plants 4' feet apart to give them room to bush out sideways and really spread their wings! My record plant to date grew 65 branches, all loaded with pods by using that method and nothing else.

You're a saint for this, this is the only way I can get Okra to germinate. Thanks, doll!

What a brilliant method for hard seeds like these, especially, when growing things in a short season region.

I usually pre-sprout most of my seeds in ziplock baggies, but I like your idea much more because after a few uses those baggies eventually end up in the landfill.

Also totally loved your video... the filming, sound bites and clips of your kids helping you save the seeds. So cool that you are getting them involved in this miraculous process!

I’m here to testify I tried this method, and it worked. Half of my seeds sprouted after three days. Since it’s still cold here in the north, I transplanted them to a small tray. Thanks for your help!❤

We always soak our okra seeds before planting, so exciting to watch a little seed grow every day

This works for so many seeds! I do almost all my bush beans, cucumbers, and melons like this. Thanks for the video

I'm in the high desert of Arizona. Cold in the winter; hot and semi-arid in the summer. I grow my okra in the greenhouse where it stays warmer at night. Thanks for sharing your sprouting technique.

I just put my okra seeds just the same way. We are having a very cold spring and I want okra! So I figured they must be started indoors or they won't have enough time. I've had success before so it should work. Oregon isn't ideal for okra but where there's a will, there's a way!

I am trying this in Quebec, Canada where there is only a two-month hot season. So wish me good luck! It would be nice to even get a little bit of okra!

I wanted to say that this video was truly one of the best I've seen on growing okra. I really appreciated that you took the time to explain how to obtain the seeds as well. Your guidance has been very helpful to me in South Alabama as I work on growing okra. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

You're a good teacher. I like how you gave an example about planting too close - that is so tempting to do with a small garden. Thanks.

A neighbor was so gracious to give us some okra seeds and now I can’t wait to get to trying this method and to planting them as soon as possible.
