"Once you start, you cannot stop." I have fifteen avocado seeds and there's already five avocado plants in pots. 🥑🥑🥑 "You will never be able to throw another avocado pit ever again" THAT'S SO TRUE I LITERALLY WAIT EVERY TIME WE EAT AVOCADOES JUST TO SAVE THE PIT! The addiction is real. Be warned y'all!

If you want to get the tree to produce, you have to shock the tree. We in South Africa plant the pips and after 3-4 years in the ground, you nail 3-4 inch nails into the thickest part of the trunk and then the tree will go into shock and produce fruits. This is the nature way of survival of the trees to make more fruits for the pips/seeds so the trees don't die out. Tru and let me know.

My coworker found out she could sell them in her local area for about $100 per mature avocado plant. So she went to the nearest Qdoba and asked them for all their pits. They gave her a box of about 500 pits and she was successfully able to grow a bit over 450 in her greenhouse on her rented property. A few died but she sold the remaining avocado plants in 2 months. She made enough to buy a house. So here I am, trying to figure out how to grow an avocado successfully 😂 🥑

Thank you Brad!
in my experiment I tried:
- 1 seed with skin, above water glass (slightly deeped), north window positioned without drape, slight fresh air, aprox 23-24 C
- 1 seed without skin above water glass (slightly deeped), north window positioned without drape, slight fresh air, aprox 23-24 C
- 2 seeds without skin, in wet paper towel, in zip bag, on desk, near powered laptop (constant temperature, lower lighting).

The seeds in zip bag (your method) show strong root after 1 week only, leaving them in bag for another week and check.
no bad odor, no mold.

the other seeds have very shy attempts to show roots after 2 weeks.

I'mma leave this here and it was the best realisation ever. The lids to the Mcdonalds sundaes and the Starbucks cups (cold ones) works perfectly as the above water vessel. Just flip it upside down and yo gooodddd! Stop that plastic ending up in the fill. Reuse reuse reuse!

This channel is the only way I've ever been successful with growing an avocado pit into a tree! I'm so happy with my first one and now I'm on numbers 2-5... definitely an addiction like he says! Thanks from sunny California! ☀️🥑♥️

Tried this during quarantine and it's been such a fun project for me and my kiddos ever since. We've become super obsessed and are growing 4 more at the moment. We got the same West Elm vase as well! Thanks for sharing this vid!

Funny story - I did the first stage: I put it in a wet paper towel, in a tied bag in a cabinet and then... I forgot about it for many weeks. no idea how many... weeks and weeks... I finally remembered having putting it away, took it out today, and... there was a nice root and stem that had started growing. Plus- it wasn't moldy :)
So now it's in a glass bottle, in the manner which you suggested, and I'm exited to see what happens with it!
Thank you for this tutorial! This is the first time I succeeded growing a root out of an avocado pit!

Can't thank you enough for posting this easy method for rooting pits. Wonderful to find this after so many failed toothpick attempts. The wet paper towel and zip lock bag also worked great for mango pits and lemon pits--they both sprouted roots within one week. Avocados have been slower for me-one has rooted so far (2 weeks). I've transferred 3 mangoes and one avocado to propagation cups set atop 4 different, interesting, tall crystal water glasses of different shapes. I'm fascinated by the day to day root growth. I planted the rooted lemon seeds in soil one morning and by nightfall I had sprouts peeking up---that kinda blew me away. My SO is from the Caribbean and eats a mango and an avocado every day so I have a bagful of wrapped pits perking away. I think that a rooted, sprouted pit in a beautiful tall faceted glass is a great gift idea.

I just adopted a baby avocado tree and your video is a blessing to a newbie like me! 😊 What I meant by adopted is this cafe I dined in had a brilliant nature campaign that when you purchase their avocado smoothie, youll get to take one seedling. And suddenly today Im an avocado’s parent haha

This video was incredibly helpful! I've been trying for ages to grow an avocado by just plopping the pit in water and hoping for the best. I have been enlightened!!! Thank you so much. You are really fun to watch!

I have a tiny improvement that worked very well for me: Instead of a paper towel use wrapped up cling film, it holds moisture too but since it's not organic it's less likely to develop mold. Worked better for me :)

Growing my first Avocado tree with this method. After 6 weeks got a great root and just half submerged in water. Did two at the same time. One took, the other didn't. Brillz method. Can't wait to see wee leaves!

I watched this video about 2-3 months ago. I followed every step and for the first time ever have 3 avocado plants! Thanks for the great information😊

The buds are mycorrhizae which are symbiotic organisms that help the plant to grow! I’m so excited. I saved some avocado pits because I just knew I could repurpose it
