you can make these in any shape you like, rectangles would be the most common way but circles are also cool lol, the sauce was simply kewpie mayo mixed with sriracha.

Tip:
Don’t throw away the water when you wash potatoes.

Leave the pot with water on the countertop for a couple of hours or overnight. You will end up with potato starch on the bottom of the pot.

Carefully drain the water, spread the moist powder on a baking sheet, and dry the potato powder in an cold oven with the oven light on for a couple of hours.

You end up with dry powdered potato starch to thicken gravy, soups, stews, pasta sauce, etc…

This is a more complicated version of potato latkes. An Eastern European delicacy. No need to freeze the potatoes, or over fry them in so much oil. Finely chopped onions add so much flavour to the potato latkes. My mom made the best latkes ever. Look online for easy recipes.

I'll try these, but TBH I pretty much always break down and get the Simply Potatoes outta the refrigerator case in the grocery store after I make them from scratch - they are SO much less work.

I may be the only person who does this, but I have a way of getting my shredded potatoes to stick together without pre-frying or boiling. After I grate my potatoes, I form small mounds on a microwave-safe plate. Cook for 1-2 minutes in the microwave. Lift off the plate with a spatula, and fry in a small amount of oil and butter. Flip and brown on both sides. It works great.

Skip the oil step, instead of soaking in oil, make a marinade or stock, then soak, then freeze for better results, - an actual chef 😅

Or just make mashed potatoes, add in the corn starch and seasonings, put in the molds, freeze, and fry. Much easier and will taste the same if not better.
