The more one suffers, the more one appreciates even the littlest of happiness.

I have found that happiness is best achieved with an open mind, thankfulness, and acceptance. This is from my personal experience. Actively working towards a goal also helps.

What i noticed makes me happy is having an organised life, and to be working daily on something i want to achieve, it just makes you not feel like you are wasting your life.

I have a small guideline for life.
Every day, learn something, teach something, make someone smile.
If I have done that, the day is a success.

This helped me a lot. I knew i needed to study for this lecture im going to have tomorrow, but was just feeling depressed. By quite literally breaking down my priorities like this you have convinced me to feel better about getting started instead of feeling anxious and hopeless.

I wanted to pursue an art career, but I struggled and had to get a different job. I like my current job, but it saps so much energy out of me and it feels like I'm still slaving away at it. Most of my life is going towards this job, I come home and I have 4 hours left before I have to go to sleep. Ever since I got here I gained some weight (I'm still a healthy weight but I'm unhappy the way I look now) and I barely sleep.
I like my job still, and I like the people I work with, yet I still find myself unhappy at the end of the day. I don't even do art anymore, it just makes me feel even unhappier. I was told I need to see a therapist, but my insurance doesn't cover it. I miss when I would just make comics for hours, but I can't even look at my own art without feeling like it wasn't enough when I needed it to be enough the most.
Sorry for the depressing comment. I don't really want to be where I'm at right now. It took me 3 previous jobs to even find one that I find myself feeling ok to moderately happy. I just wish I didn't have to dedicate so much time just to get by here.

But is "a good place " the same as "being happy "? There's no shortage of people succeeding in life, by any and all standards, and yet still not being happy, in fact it seems that walking away from that is what leads them (closer) to happiness. That being said, I agree with the notion that happiness typically isn't achieved by one or two choices but rather a series of continuously made choices and commitments leading up to something. The journey keeps us on the path to happiness, the feeling of arrival let's us know whether or not that particular journey was worth it and gives us the push to set out on the next.

Like a quest in a game, you need to finish every single tiny progression to finish the game

The fact is no one can be happy all the time. And you shouldn't really care about happiness anyway, its so fleeting. You should be going toward fulfillment, but even fulfillment doesn't last forever. What we should being doing is going towards our dharma/purpose. And try to do something at least everyday that you enjoy. Sadly the reality of life is your sad or neutral most of the time, but this is reality. Life is just constantly bouncing between being happy and sad, bored and empty, till you die. But you should be doing your purpose that's the only thing that will keep you alive.

I live a simple life buying only what I need, I work a minimum wage job and save what I can, I have hobbies both social ones and ones I do alone, I work out as often as I can, I am single and doing what I do gives me more contentedness than I've ever had which I feel is happiness.

Yes, to all of that and if you work really hard and specific goal, you can change your life within six months. And when I say change your life accomplishing that one specific goal in that six months. Can be life-changing.

Happiness is not a goal, it’s a momentary emotion we feel sometimes. What ppl truly desire is inner PEACE ✌️… the inner peace to handle any situation with grace

Our life is full of ups and downs. It’s unrealistic to aim for constant “ups.” But it makes sense to seek inner peace. If you’re at peace, calm, and something bad happens, you can handle it much easier. If you’re at peace and something beautiful happens, you can feel immense joy and truly appreciate that moment.

Happiness is not a goal, it should always come naturally to you at any point in your life

I think Happiness ist just a moment. To be
Content has a way bigger meaning. I cant be happy every day. I think and hope i can be content. I am working on it. As you get older it gets harder if you have achieved a lot and then life comes along and you start all over again. It’s an ongoing process. Important is to use your experience and never give up.
Im so happy i came across your page. Thank you 😊

if you are proud of yourself every day. you are happy. being proud means doing the hard things that are useful and not doing the bad habits

The fact that this should be common sense, but so many people need to hear it nowadays is sad

The quality of your life is determined by your choices you make.

I tend to agree with the Toltecs and feel we are not designed to suffer. Also I tend to think that happiness doesn’t come from outside sources to include people but rather from Source which is from within ourselves. So simple not easy.
