Diagnosed narc here. Collapse/mortification is horrific, lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks unable to sleep in that time as well, multiple all nighters with 2-3 hours of sleep between. Very true I’m 60 and I’ve seen this with many narcs but it happened around 60 and older but yes it’s great because absolutely nothing is left for them that’s appealing their emptiness is evident for all to see. Very validating to see the justice. They absolutely do get exposed and the game is up.

My mother was physically and emotionally abusive all my life. She was more like a mean, competitive sister than a mother. And whenever my dad would confront her about her treatment toward my siblings and me (and extended family), my mother would just get depressed and talk about suicide because the world is out to get her. It's been 35 years and she's still the same way.

Thank you, I did see the soften of the Narcissist while married in our 40's, then by 50 he was on the prowl for supply, even a bromance to keep his spirits up. Alcohol became a real factor in his life.

My ex collapsed when he was about 45. We then talked about midlife crisis. Now, ten years later, I discover about narcissism, and I recognize everything. I wonder if narcissism and midlife crisis are somehow related.
