I think having a power rack of some sort is highly beneficial especially if you train from home. You can squat, bench, do rack pulls etc. it’s multifunctional

That man trusts his shoe soles more than I trust my body's ability to breath without me thinking about it.

I wasn't into weightlifting and male workout until I ran into his shorts! Keep this up, you're motivating me

During COVID I learned to clean the bar so I could perform front squats

Edit: if you workout from home, you can also try doing zercher squats

Squat stands are easy to put away. And you definitely have the space for an actual power rack.

There are 'half racks' you can get when you're limited on space. They are also cheaper than full racks.

Rack is nice even for calisthenics because you can set the bar for rows and do pull-ups as well as squats. Alternatively, why not wear a weight vest AND use your two plates? I do this with plates that have grip cuts in them so I can use them as kettlebells as well. And when I need more I will use my chains and handles to add more weight and squat them in a kettlebell clean position. Cheers!

You actually have 3 other options:
1. Learn some form of clean and front squat.
2. Deadlift the bar and go into a Zercher squat.
3. Do like the legendary Hackenschmidt and do a Barbell hack squat with the bar behind your legs.

I was in the same situation years ago. I adapted to my situation by power cleaning weight into a front squat position and banged out reps. I'd also do overhead squats so the weight was manageable and wouldn't hurt myself while still getting squats into my routine. Alternating lunges with dumbbells/weights were another go to.

Who says a squat rack doesn't fit in that room? A squat rack is so versatile you don't need anything else in that room. You can do squats, bench, deadlift, overhead press, pull-ups, rows and many more! And it's safe and there are many decent ones for 800+ lbs for under 500$

I love bulgarian split squats, or slightly easier step back lunges (focusing your weight on the forward foot). My favorite part of these is you can use random heavy objects instead of dumbbells. Making it a single leg exercise means whatever weight you do have, even if it's a couple cast iron pans or a heavy rock, will go further.

Landmine squat is different biomechanically from the usual squat as the body position is completely different so it targets other muscles

When I had this issue living at home, I just went outside and used wooden pallets as a squat rack. Worked wonders. All you need is a yard.

The pallets were given away for free by a local garden, but I had to haul them home by myself. I didn't have a car at the time and there were 24 of them, so I loaned my brother's skateboard and stacked 6 of them on top of it and rolled them home in batches. Took me a total of ~5.5 hours of walking back and forth, but hey it's a free squat rack!

If you can load that landmine setup sufficiently well, it's a decent alternative. Slipping is no issue at all, but if you're worried you can just throw a few planks between your toes and the wall.
