I share a very personal story of how I changed my life using fitness and a strict routine, and overcame my battle with severe health problems. Lost a ton of weight (100+ pounds), and gained it all back, three times now.

I've had all those excuses "I dont have a desk job, I'm on my feet all day." Yet downing sodas all day.

"I walked around today, that's exercise. I'm not going to the gym."

"I'm tired. I'll go to gym tomorrow."

That's it. Today is the day, 8:16pm central time. I'm changing my body. And permanently this time.

No excuses.

I'm a distance runner...but have to say that Cardio isn't the be all end all for losing weight. The most efficient exercise for weight loss is the one you keep doing. The best "diet" for weight loss is the one that you can continue. Everything else you mentioned is spot on.

Just saw this...I am a cyclist, swimmer and tennis player. I do significant cycling miles and I can tell you it is life/ health changing. Good message....and best of luck!

TGV, thanks very much for this video. I was injured in Afghan in 2008, i had a cracked vertebrae, collapsed lung, fell into a coma and my body went auto immune and subsequently now have a chronic nerve pain disorder. I spent a few years in a wheel chair and on steroids and my weight blew up. As time went on i would get fit then have a flair up which would see me put into a ketamine coma for a week or so followed by another month in hospital. The battle starts again.

Your very inspiring man. Your right about the cardio. I used to do a ton of cardio and felt better. It helps with everything spiritually, mentally, and physically. The hardest part about anything is starting it.

Also, if you feel better and you have good thoughts the law of attraction takes effect.

Man, You cannot believe how I love it that finally someone adresses this issue! I am a Belgian PE & Movement Sciences student and I can tell you once you know the benefits you really put time and effort in it! By the way not only cardio gives you benefits but also maximal strength (and in your case a little bit of muscle gain would actually improve your basal metabolism!). I got into this because when I was young I had severe astma during exercise and worked extremely hard and got rid of it! Succes to all of you guys combatting your challenges!

Like Tristano, I love watches, but I am really glad to see a non-horological video for once. I like the variety. I would be happy if about 25% of channel output was not watch related. The variety was one of the draws of the channel in the early days for me. It differentiates TGV from the other channels out there. It's clear TGV is more than a one trick pony so it's nice to see him stretch his creative legs so to speak. Keep up the good work guv!

A secret of mine to stop yourself from oversnacking is brushing your teeth, everytime I felt like I really wanted a cupcake or something I'd just do that, food doesn't taste the same with mint flavor in your mouth lol.. Cheers

I am currently struggling to lose weight and I realize the hardest parts for me are the routine - I work with consulting and travel a lot, so its a bit hard to build a consistent routine - and to train my mind. Very inspiring man! I hope I can follow your steps!
