I carry my insurance all year round and they may sit a couple of months during the winter but if my Garage burns down or they are stolen I'm covered

In the UK, vehicle insurance is mandatory - and I can’t get insurance on a CBR 600 RR because I life in London and it might get jacked.

Insurance is mandatory where I live, if it's not insured and is not suspended u get fined automatically.

Only have liability on my bike but mine I believe is required in my state and was 6 bucks a month so wasn’t to upset and full coverage is like 15 a month. Got mine since I’m a new rider but can understand your point and imagine a litre bike and above would be much more expensive than mine.

Just switch the insurance to liability only during the off season so at least its still legal and you still get the medical and property damage coverage.

My '12 z750 costs just over $200 a year for full comprehensive. The reason yours is so much is cause of squids squiding. So, you're not really helping your cause here
