How Much Does Motorcycle Insurance Cost For A New Rider?

Today we go over how much I pay for motorcycle insurance as a new rider. I have had the ninja insured under Statefarm, Progressive, and Voom!

I’m 23 got my first bike (new 500cc scrambler) and paid $451/yr for full coverage from Allstate. Progressive quoted me $850/yr, Geico quoted me $7600/yr. Recently I’ve been looking into buying a sports bike. Allstate and progressive both quoted me over $10k/yr. I have 0 tickets, 0 accidents, MFS, basically check all the discounts except for time riding. The sports bike I want is ~25% more expensive than my current bike.

for a 2012 ninja 650 as a first time rider at 30 Years old I paid 137 for the year (yes, 1 lump sum of 137 for the entire year) through progressive.

Im so confused on how everyone is getting such low rates. Im 21 got a ninja 500 with abs. Passed my course and everything. I’ve insured all my cars through State Farm for years and my rates are super good! But yet they want $306 a month for full coverage on my motorcycle, yes you read that right, A MONTH. No accidents, no tickets, even went to driving school

In 30's and a ninja 4rr is £3300 a year for me if pay in one go, £3800 if paid monthly, for 3rd party only. No insurer will insure me for theft on it. No insurer will insure me for a 600 f4i at all. Insurance here is insane from bike theft.

2024 Kawasaki versys abs coverage for new rider in California is 3-5 thousand dollars annually! That’s wild and I’m 32

Just asked for a quote and both State Farm and Geico want way too much. Who’s the cheapest. Geico wanted 600$ a month and State Farm 205$.

This being said I’m over 25 with no tickets or accidents.

2023 ninja 650, first time rider, im paying 87 a month with state farm full coverage, lowest quote i could get. Thats more than my car insurance !

A motorcycle would never cause that much damage 😂 if you're going to cause serious damage, the reality is you're hauling ass and will most likely not survive.
