In this episode, BTGO welcomes Ally Toyos, child survivor of a reunification camp and founder of the Instagram community @cjeyouthspeak, for part 1 of our interview. Ally shares her beyond-nightmarish story of ten years of her and her sister's life being abused by a toxic parent and a system profiting off the misery of families already suffering deeply. Ally's is unfortunately a terrible example of what happens when the legal system truly messes up at every level.

We continue the discussion, moving on to the weaponization of the term “parental alienation,” in part 2 of the interview in our next episode.

Our book, “Been There Got Out: Toxic Relationships, High-Conflict Divorce, and How to Stay Sane Under Insane Circumstances” is now available!! Learn more and order here:

Thank you. My daughter is going through a high conflict divorce now and it is unbeliebable what these court appointed people are doing to her and her daughter.

It is shocking how child abuse could be made profitable by its escalation and how victims could be treated as criminals through a legal process. When the problem is legal, is the solution legal?

Thank you for sharing your story. My heart goes out to you.

The first time I got out, it took me giving up on eating at my father’s house and not taking meds/showering bc he was very neglectful and abusive and the courts did nothing; I was 11 and was admitted to a mh after openly contemplating offing myself and losing 12lbs. It could’ve been stopped if the judge had listened to my mother’s witnesses and let me speak bc even at 8 I knew he was a stranger; he used me to get to my mother bc the courts didn’t do anything. He went as far as breaking into our house, letting me be around his stepbrothers that molested him, rped my mother, tried to kidnap me, neglecting my chronic illnesses, and so much more. All bc one judge scolded my mother abt parental alienation when I was 8. I’m 20 now with severe mental health issues and I’ve come to realize I was a ploy for him
