If the knock out plug on your disposal was accidentally left in, it's blocking an important opening and needs to be removed so your dishwasher can drain.

Searching YouTube for "Whirlpool dishwasher not draining" gave me hundreds of videos on how to clean the filters, take apart the pump, and troubleshoot the dishwasher itself (all of which I did). None of them said anything about a knock out plug. This was exactly the problem I was having. Just replaced the garbage disposal a few days ago. Thank you!

Thank you that's exactly what was wrong with mine . The new disposal had a plug in it. I knew when I felt inside the hole in the disposal that plastic blockage shouldn't be there but I never would've knock it out if I didn't see your video. Here I am a guy ... But I watched several videos and never owned show me how to check the pump clean the filter that I didn't know I had.... And then she said something about the knockout valve... Oh do I feel so stupid LOL... I appreciate your knowledge thank you it worked

NO ONE mentioned the circuit for the dishwasher in any of the videos! I just turned mine off and on to see if it will help, fingers crossed and will update for anyone who has a similar issue!

In Canada, we dont have garbage disposal under the sink. So that part does not apply
