How to Reset a Dishwasher

In this video, I demonstrate how to reset a dishwasher. Occasionally, you may need to reset your dishwasher because you started the wash prematurely or perhaps you decided that you want a different type of wash cycle. So in this video, I show you how to reach your objective of resetting your dishwasher.

My kenmore dishwasher has a cancel button in case you choose the wrong options. But we experienced a power outtage yesterday. After power was restored the dishwasher would make noise but not move any water, and the buttons would not light up. It would do this by just selecting any button. Didn't even have to hit start. I was researching a new dishwasher until I came across this video. I held the start button on my dishwasher for 5 seconds and now it is back to normal! Thank you, you save me a few hundred dollars.

Thanks for your video. My dishwasher wouldn’t drain. I cleaned all the filters, and checked the drain hose. No problems there, and dreaded buying a new washer, then found your video, and I had no idea of a reset function. Did what you showed and it worked ! Ran the washer 3 different times after just to check it, and drained each and every time.

Oh my goodness! You have stopped me from having a meltdown! This literally happened to me a few minutes ago. I had this odd upside down number 4 and and a 10 after it. Thought the computer thingy was broken. I tried hitting different combinations together but nothing. Turned it off and on several times. Nada. I kept hitting the delay button thinking it would cycle back to zero delay.... but when I ended up with the weird number 4 plus 24 I figured that wasn't going to work! I can ill afford to get it replaced so came hunting on YT for help and found you within seconds! It's working now, thank goodness! And I saw it, it was there all the time, right in front of the "start" button. The " reset 3 sec" words!

Note: If you're looking for how to reset a quiet partner i, the one that doesn't have as many buttons (because there are several versions), push any 3 buttons from the left corner on, three times (1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 and 1, 2, 3) and it'll reset itself.
