I sudded the dishwasher on moving out day 😫 This totally saved me!!! Thank you so much! Used a Finish dishwasher cleaner after that as there was a bit of oil smell but that did the trick!

You still have to take the kick panel off the bottom front and sop up the water collected in the white plastic drip trip tray. There is an overflow switch in there. I used paper towel and just keep pushing cancel button twice to reset. Otherwise continue to splash fresh water into tub and allow it to keep draining itself. Keep sopping drip tray and pushing cancel twice. I didn't use oil just scoop suds and then keep rinsing and letting it drain. Then let it do a quick wash to make sure suds are out of everything..good luck. Remember to keep hands away from any wires!

Does it need any further repairs after this. I want to know if this indicative of a bigger problem that needs to be fixed. Or if it was only caused by using dish soap. Can it be ignored after the studs clear?

If you can "ideally" use cooking oil, then why are you using the non-ideal WD-40? Cooking oil is foodsafe too, whereas WD-40 is not.

I put vegetable oil in it and it's like I didn't do anything

Given how that thing smells; I wouldn't use it.

My washing machine recommends that you dilute fabric softener and some water if theres excess foaming. Can't see why that won't work for this scenario.

I don't know what this video was about for obvious reasons. Couldn't stop staring.

Like veggie oil, wd40 probably clings to the bubbles and dissolves em, but I'd rather have veg oil residue in my dishwasher or even film n my dishes than wd40. Really?

MOUTH WASH (Without Alcohol) is the key.
1. Stop the Dishwasher
2. Put mouthwash in a spray bottle and spray on top foam. The foam will go away. Keep spraying.
3. Then set the dishwasher on "rinse only". Most "rinse only" programs do not pump out the liquid as the first step and this is what you want. Let the mouth wash pump around a bit so it gets inside the pumps and valves and makes contact with the foam everywhere.
4. Cancel rinse only program, that will make the dishwasher pump out the water.
5. Open and see if there is still foam. If so spray again mouth wash on the foam and repeat.
Sometimes you need to repeat that 3-4 times but it works great.

Honestly, if you just leave the machine door open overnight and let the bubbles dry out, you can avoid all of this extra admin. I have just done this.

if you use WD40 in the dishwasher, then you wouldn't be able to use it for things that you eat with later on, so after that it's ruined. Just use dish liquid and baking soda works like a charm
