We can't overlook the fact that we get an extra 10+ years of telescope time thanks to all the fuel they saved getting Webb into position. That is an incredible achievement that helps ease the pain from the cost of building and launching this incredible telescope a lot.

Finally, my favorite favorite person talks about Webb!

The photo only covers a patch of sky which is the size of a grain of sand, held at arm's length. This is mind blowing!

It seriously impresses me how fast Webb was able to capture those images. I cant wait to see what is discovered over the years

Not dissapointed at all - the clarity and new detail is just incredible.

I'm not disappointed at all. My first impression was amazement at how fast they produced these. We're going to see very cool new stuff, it just takes time.

Extremely impressive. How could we not be super impressed by this work. Many thanks to the thousands of people on our lovely planet who have collaborated on this awesome information gathering exercise. The last time I was this excited was during the live perserverance landing on Mars.

I love how each of us saw different features in the images that impressed us. Someone should do a mashup of your video, mine and Dr. Becky's. 🙂 Great work Anton!

Hello Anton and this is pretty cool. Ever since it was launched last Christmas, I couldn't wait to see the new pictures the JWTS. Now that they're finally here, I can't wait to see what the telescope discovers. The Hubble Telescope has shown and discovered many things about our universe so just imagine what the JWST could potentially tell us about our universe!

That new shot of the Carina nebula might just be my new favorite space picture, instantly became my phone wallpaper.

The spectral graph of the exoplanet atmosphere was the most exciting part of the entire thing in my opinion. If it’s possible to get data like that in a matter of hours of observation time, we are in for an amazing number of discoveries regarding the nature of exoplanets and the possibilities for life.

I am absolutely stunned with these images! We are entering a new world of space exploration with this telescope and I am so excited to see what images we get next. Thousands of galaxies in an area of sky that is only 1/24, 000, 000th of what's out there. This is absolutely mental and in my opinion the most important photograph that humanity has ever captured. Our universe is beautiful!

I would love to see Einstein's face looking at that galaxy cluster for the first time seeing that gravity lensing in all that glory. I can see his big smile.

I don't understand how anyone could not be blown away by these images. They are Amazing.

No disappoinment at all. Especially knowing that fact that they took this for only like 12 hours while Hubble takes weeks to produce a lesser image. Imagine Webb also putting weeks to focus on one spot of space, we'll definitely get more data.

Saw the images but held off learning about them until Anton's video was released. He's an absolute legend.

Since its launch just over six months ago, it has faced numerous crunch points such as blast off, insertion, unfurling the incredibly delicate shield, unfolding the mirror and calibration. Now the science starts and it will produce nearly as many papers as there are galaxies!

The nebula image is now my new desktop background, that is until something even cooler looking gets imaged.

One thing that you didn't mention is the insane resolution of some of these images. The raw nebula image is 14575 x 8441 pixels. 8k is 7680 x 4320 for reference.

My honest condolences to the loss of your son Anton. First time I hear this, this must be the worst thing a parent has to handle. You are extremely strong and produce so much value for humanity - with your videos and collecting for children in need. Thanks so much for this!

These images are truly incredible, phenomenal, staggering and breathtaking, indeed mind-blowing. I knew they would be amazing, but wow...through the decades of planning, construction, delays and finally launching on Christmas Day, to be here in this time seeing these images has made it all worthwhile. A huge congratulations to all the thousands involved in the project. Your hard work has paid off sensationally.
