These images are MIND-BLOWING from the James Webb Telescope and NASA.

Nasa released the first 5 images from the James Webb Telescope and they are pretty insane. They build off of what the Hubble was able to capture and take it to the extreme.

Also, on a side note, I am not an astrophysicist, if I misspoke, said something wrong or there's a correction needed. Please leave a comment below with the correction so we all can learn. Thank You!!!

Man, I really appreciate that you as a photographer talk about this. In the end, photography is a testament of our existence and these AMAZING photos are testament of something WAY BEYOND our understanding. I can sense your awe and I feel the same. Love your work, love your passion.

Honestly this is the best review yet of these mind blowing incredible pictures, yes the scientists will explain them better, yes the science community will be super excited. But what you were able to portray in just expressing how flabbergasting these images are is what is important.

As an astrophysics and camera nerd, I really appreciate you doing this video and projecting this beautiful information and human perspective into our world!

You’re mind blown because you say they are stars but be even more mind blown because every one of those specs are different galaxies. Amazing!

Jared - You're damned right. Back in the day the Hubble Deep Field images Blew. My. Mind. The JWST is apt to be yet another game changer. The images are spectacular beyond description.

EDIT: 3:33 Apologies, but huge correction. With perhaps a dozen or so exceptions, every single one of those "specs" in the image is an entire freaking galaxy of hundreds of millions-to-BILLIONS of stars, each potentially with their own planets, solar systems, etc.. That's what I mean: the scale of this image defies description. The only individual stars in this image are the six-pointed a dozen or so. These individual foreground stars lie within our own Milky Way galaxy and are a point-source of light that produce a "diffraction spike". Compare this to the "specs" - the galaxies - which are a diffuse source of light and don't produce a diffraction spike.

Yeah, I know: mind blown.

I agree, BOGGLING! The hugeness defies our graspification abilities. Thanks for all those on the Webb project for making this happen; it is awesome!

What's really cool is that not only is exvery speck a star, most of those specks are BILLIONS of stars clustered together, a GALAXY! BREATHtaking!

Those specs and dots aren't stars
They're galaxies 🤯

Amateur astronomer here. For telescopes, it is all about aperture...how far away can a car be where you can still discern two headlights instead of one. Angular resolution. Webb is amazing. For any interested...the book Hubble Wars was an interesting read. Did a great job describing the root causes of Hubble's mirror problems (among other things). The fix NASA implemented about doubled Hubble's focal length (decreasing field of view and increasing the required exposure time). Still captured amazing images but was not the telescope it was designed to be. Webb on the other hand is doing it's job and doing it in a spectrum of light that is able to see through dust much better than visual light instruments can. Webb is to astronomy what 4K was to SD video. This should be a lot of fun.

It's even more spectacular than you said it ;-) You always say star... but a lot of these are galaxys (!) with million of stars in it!
