From the top tier options for 4K gaming to more affordable entries, Digital Foundry's Will Judd and Tom Morgan cover 2020's best TVs so far. LG's B9 and C9 are the clear standouts if you have the budget - as is Samsung's flagship Q90R - all of which support 4K at 120Hz. However mid-range and value TVs are also considered here, plus our choice of best small TV.

Here are links to our latest TV recommendations:

Got my B9 a week ago. Nicest tv I've ever had and it's stunning. The HDMI 2.1 support is also extremely nice looking forward to next gen consoles

Anybody getting a QLED to game on, beware that switching it to GAME mode for the reduced input lag switches off all that fancy processing to give you deeper blacks and higher HDR quality. That's why LGs 2019 OLEDs onward should be your top choice if you can be sensible and vary your content.

Loving my C9, color accuracy and the contrast. The HDMI 2.1 was really what sold me on it though, all TV's without it will be missing out on the full benifits of next gen consoles and PC's

Just bought a LG C9 65” a month ago. It’s superb, highly recommended!

Don't miss the comparison that the channel "HDTVTest" did comparing game mode, because these recommendations are for people who will use these TV do play video games, right?
Game mode reduces the quality of the image on Samsung LEDs at times drastically!

Video is legit. I have LG's new CX model, and it's an absolutely amazing upgrade After experiencing 120fps G-sync with ultra low input lag, 60fps feels more and more like 30 fps now. Can never go back.

Warning for people that want a Samsung: Apparently, HDR10+ is about to die and be displaced by Dolby Vision entirely, since almost all film studios decided for that format.

Bought a Sony OLED A9G 65" tv last fall. No hdmi 2.1, but simply the best picture and most accurate colors out of the box possible.

Got a 49" Samsung RU8000 for my dorm last year and it's been fantastic. It's a step down in image quality compared to my family's Sony X850D in the living room, but it's been a great TV with really nice HDR overall. Sound isn't bad either and the Samsung Ryzen UI is fast and simple. Highly recommend it.

I got a 55 Samsung Q60 a few months back for the PS5 with no prior knowledge to this video, I’m happy to know it’s recommended by digital foundry!

Only LG and Samsung. Why no Sony or Panasonic models? They create outstanding TVs too.

Thank you for this, I was just in the market for a 4K HDR screen!

As I'm watching, I'm thinking, "That's some impressive stuff!" And then I realize that I'm watching a screen within a screen on my 1600x900 laptop display from 2010, and viewing the video at 720p resolution on YouTube. Still...pretty impressive!

Buy the LG B9 or if you can afford it then get C9, you wont regret it. The TVs have integrated anti burn in features, many videos on YouTube show that even after 1000s of hours of static news hasn't caused burn in so don't fret! Mines about 3 weeks old and I love it!

I have the Samsung RU8000 model, one of the 4K TVs they reviewed and I can attest that it is a great mid range UHD TV-really good picture when gaming and watching 4K movies. The sound is good as well for TV speakers but better to invest in some quality Dolby Atmos compatible speakers for superior sound, like I did.
