I had an underbite and only uses elastics. My orthodontist doesn't pull teeth. Nearing the end of my treatment, my teeth are still grinding up front. I wonder if a different doctor would extract.

Question I am 27 I grew up with my family with very little money my job is giving me insurance to take care of this. My two front teeth have blunt roots many have told me that they aren't short but they aren't ideally long. And if I align my teeth and do the ortho treatment they say I need this procedure. Will flaring my upper teeth shorten my roots even more?

Hi Dr. I went to the orthodontist and they said I was most likely born with a underbite. My bottom teeth are straight and the top left is not so much. I wanted to fix my underbite but I’m 17 and they said Jaw surgery would be the best case. I told him I didn’t want any surgery. I was wondering if I can just get 4 teeth extractions 2 on top and 2 bottom, if it would bring my bottom teeth back and I can use elastics and braces to straighten and fix my underbite by pulling my bottom teeth a little back with elastics . Thanks. I’m scared that the only way to fix my bite is by surgery. Also I asked him if I can just straighten my top teeth instead of fixing my bite bc I was fine with it. He said if I were to only straighten my top. My top and bottom would grind on each other making it hard to eat and etc. plz help

I have overbite, but I went for bridge but is not nice.can I still do orthodontic ?

My underbite is 10x times worse than that and i can pull my lower jaw a few centimeters forwards

my ortho put the braces only on the upper teeth as i have two canines like a vampire and he said he wants to bring underbite to overbite first and then see if extraction is necessary .. please reply abt this..

I had 4 extractions before and then got braces. I haven’t worn my retainers much and my teeth has shifted and underbite is back. Is surgery the only option for me? Will elastics not work to correct my bite?
