YouTube Has Added HANDLES! (explained!)

YouTube has added handles to every YouTube channel - but what is it? What does this new YouTube feature actually do? In this video, I discuss this new addition, and why YouTube Handles are a pretty awesome feature which should have always been here! When they first appeared I freaked out cuz when I refreshed comment sections the usernames got replaced by the handles and vice versa, but now it's just handles.

I actually really like handles. The only thing I don't like about them is that they'll replace channel names in comments soon. It just bears an uncanny resemblance to TikTok, which has me worried about what YouTube is becoming. Maybe sometime in the future, YouTube will do away with channel names entirely and replace them with handles.
If YouTube is hellbent on introducing handles everywhere and must absolutely introduce them in comments, then maybe it could display them next to the channel name or something.
But it's nothing compared to some of the other updates YouTube has brought.

Well if you're gonna be more like Twitter, then just go all the way. Don't hide handles in comments and the homepage. That defeats the purpose of them, which is to identify individuals. Just put the username and handle together. Also, don't let people abuse unicode.

I like the new handles, they work well, I liked that they also reserved handles so that people don't have their names "collected".
