How to FIX your Bricked GPU BIOS - Bootable DOS Drive Method - HD6950 failed flash to HD 6970

Hey folks, this video takes a look at how to fix a GPU that has been bricked by mis-flashing.

The test card is a AMD HD6950 which the previous owner tried to flash to a 6970 on BOTH bios chips.

The card would only display to a black screen and no windows based flashing apps would solve the issue.

To fix this, Im going to show you how to create a bootable USB DOS drive and flash your AMD or ATI GPU from that.

This allowed me to fix BOTH bios chips and get the card working again!

please note that this is for AMD and ATI cards only. There is a similar tool called NVflash for nVidia Cards and the methodolgy is the same.

Something finally worked for me! Although my MB did not have onboard graphics, I used an older 9800 GT GPU (needed no additional power connections), plugged in along with my problem GPU. That old 9800 GT GPU is a great tool to have for situations like this and others.

For those who cant flash their 2015 AMD gpus, try older AMdflash for dos from 2016 year, it worked for me, the newer versions were putting the newer bios already programmed error... Hope it helps!

Thank you very very much This tutorial was the best so far and it was easy and understandable so like from me. I succeded after few failed attempts but those fails were just because I haven't found the right bios in first attempt
And ofc I am commenting from/with unbricked card and the feel I got after succes was like a ton of bricks felt of my chest :DD
To others if the message "this program can't be ran in dos mode" just use specifically atiflash 4.17 (it worked for me at least) and if there is anymore problems just seek an answer in comments and answers to them.
P.S. NEVER EVER FLASH YOUR GPU IF CARD WORKS FINE AND THERE IS NO NEED, and if there is need to do that just leave it to pros pls ;)

Thanks a lot, fixed my R9 270. Couldn't get the latest atiflash to work so used this version (4.17) and had no problems. I will also add that if your PC doesn't have an onboard GPU it doesn't matter, just create the boot drive on a laptop or another PC
