The Best Medium Rare Steak

The Rolls Royce of the cow is one of the most delicious experiences life has to offer (for meat-eaters anyway). The thing is, steak isn't cheap and the thought of cooking it can be intimidating. But I'm here to show you that if you have a grill, all you need are two ingredients to make a steak so outrageously superb, you'll swear you were at a high-end steakhouse. Except it's going to cost you a third of the price and it'll be cooked exactly to your liking. Following this recipe will not only make you feel like you accomplished something serious, but may also turn you into a true grill-master!

Here’s a tip to save some more money on Costco steaks. Buy the whole ribeye and then cut it into steaks. It’s cheaper that way any you can decide how thick to cut them. Eat what you want for now and freeze the rest. If you vacuum seal them before you freeze them they last a long time. defrost them in the refrigerator in the vacuum bag overnight, or longer if it’s a really thick steak, then take them out of the vacuum bag and follow this recipe. BTW, you can cook that whole ribeye for a fantastic roast, or just cut it into two pieces for two smaller roasts.

I use the low sodium Montreal Steak seasoning. It's all you need. It's also great on burgers!! Thanks Jeffrey!!

Montreal Steak seasoning FTW! I've used it for the past 25+ years. I use it on all steaks other than filet mignons.

I'm a huge fan of the Tri-Tip from Costco. Just dry brine with Salt, Pepper, and Garlic powder. Throw into the fridge overnight. Granted, that's a personal opinion. But I've done that, and cut it up to turn into a stroganoff in the Instant pot, using your recipe, Jeffrey. So many compliments!

Bevo is good eating!!! Good for any meal! My hubby will make one and sometimes I use the leftovers to make him an omelette.

I got scared you were going to cook the steak in the instant pot 🤣

Looks perfectly cooked to me! And the butter tip is the way to go. Even on super lean or overcooked meat, it adds that silky mouth-feel. Have you ever dry-brined overnight? I love that with thick steak cuts and larger meats, and even poultry.

Perfection! Exactly what I was looking for. Anymore, and it's considered over handling.

That's exactly how I make mine! When I can actually afford to buy steak. 😂
Thanks for the video!

I know this was for demo purposes, but you don't need to fire up all your burners if all you are doing is searing like you did. You could make do with just the 2 on one side. You will still get the results you want. Just an FYI.

I do not have a grill. Can I do something similar in my air fryer?

$50 for 3 little ribeyes, nothing screams your vote matters more than this! Have you had enough of this economy yet?

Whoa, that's too much for steak. I pay $25 for two big rib eyes at Walmart. Lawdy, your steak is still mooing! I have to have mine well done.
