Any time someone hears a body was found in the woods, the first thought is NOT “I bet that was a bear attack.”

I literally grew up in bear country. During the summer we were free to roam around in the woods. We knew how to make ourselves known, were aware of high traffic areas for bears. Never had a problem. Come November we were locked up. Because hunters, random men, couldn't seem to read the posted signs all over our property.

So I've literally lived through bear vs man.

Most men have no idea how personal safety is a constant concern for women.

As a man, I felt second-hand embarrassment reading those responses from other men. Literally proved and confirmed why women would choose the bear in real-time

I travel in an RV.. Bear. I choose bear. Bears are far more predictable. At least you know where you stand and they struggle with doorknobs.

I'm a man, and I would also pick the bear tbh. It's easy to avoid bear attacks if you know a little bit about bears and how not to piss them off. Another person, especially some random man in the woods, is far less predictable.

The amount of men that I saw threatening physical and sexual violence in response to women saying they'd pick the bear was insane. But also not surprising.

The real funny thing is that the men who complained about women choosing bears are the men who are the reason for that choice.

He actually used the word impregnate. In response to a scenario with a random man in the woods. 🤢

I saw one comment that said rape is not even that bad and women these days would not survive 1800s. 💀
Idk how I'm supposed to reject a bear over that one.
