The irony of that dude talking about HIS MOM'S experience and trying to use it for his own agenda, his mom actually did an AMA on Reddit where she literally says she carries a gun for men on the trail and has nothing against bears

As a women who has been in the woods with bears and men the man has tried to attack me 3+ times. The 50+ bears who have cornered me by mistake have done nothing. The men corned me because they wanted to hurt me. The bears wanted berries. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

The man who mentioned Jeffery Dahmer seems to forget that Dahmer was gay

"The man understands your screams for help, KNOWS what he's doing is WRONG, but continues anyways. Not out of necessity, but pleasure." Quite literal shivers, one of the best lines in this video.

Making a whole freaking creepypasta creature in response to women saying they would feel safer with a bear than a man is WILD

not only did they sexually harass that minor for picking them, they immediately switched up on her and started sending her death threats when they found out she's trans. she later admitted in another comment section that she picks the bear now because of the harassment she got, poor girl found out real quick why we pick the bear

The guy whose mother wrote a book about being mauled by a bear actually made a tweet herself, and she said she would pick the bear even after her attack.

I'm a teenage girl and my mom during all these years has been telling me "You can go out to party but watch your drink" and now that i arrive home late (10PM+) she ALWAYS calls me or texts me to pick me up from the metro station cause it's dark (I live 5 mins away from the metro station and there's also residental buildings around). The fact that she has to worry about a man attacking me on that 5 minute walk home shouldn't even be a thing

Someone said, "I'd rather a bear kills me to feed itself and it's cubs than to feed a man's sick fantasies."

So, fun fact, my aunt happens to be a bear attack survivor. She worked in the woods for most of her life and dealt with wildlife daily. It happened in autumn over 20 years ago, and she unfortunately had to put the bear down to survive, which she found extremely upsetting. I asked her the question. She picked the bear, and added that she'd even pick a bear over deer ticks (she hates parasites). She had hundreds of encounters with bears through her career, and all but one were completely non-threatening. They're mostly big raccoons, and they're terrified of you. They're not nearly as dangerous as people make them out to be. Humans, on the other hand, are very much unpredictable.

Somewhere I heard an argument along the lines "when you go to the shooting range the first thing they tell you is to treat every gun as if it were loaded... That's the same way women see men" that clicked

I think the stupidest thing that happened through out the whole man or bear thing is the fact that these men think that we don’t know what bears are and how dangerous that they could possibly be.

As a man, I'd say bear too. Why is there a random man in the woods? That's way more suspicious than a bear.

I went on a trip recently, my first solo trip. The very first day, I couldn’t even walk a block away from my hotel without a man following me. He followed me for two or three blocks, tried to grab me to lead me to a second location, and only left me alone when I lied and said I was going to meet friends.

When I went home, and I told my family about it, instead of “I’m sorry that happened to you”, I got, “why didn’t you go into a store? Why weren’t you carrying paper spray? Why didn’t you call 911? What were you wearing?”. Even my therapist asked those. This is why women choose the bear. If I were to return from my trip and say “I almost got attacked by a bear”, I’d just receive “I’m so sorry! That must have been scary.”

I'm from Finland. A few days ago, a 15-year-old girl was found r*ped and k*lled in the woods. Suspect is an adult man. What does one of our most well known caricature artist do? He draws a caricature, relating to the incident, about a girl encountering a bear in the woods and feeling relief that it was not a man. Keep in mind that he does this a couple days after the girl was found (in the woods). Best case scenario is that the picture has a very unfortunate timing. Worst case scenario is that he's poking fun at the incident.

And then they wonder why we would choose the bear.

The biggest problem is that they take it too personal. As a trans man, I’d be completely understanding if a woman told me she’d choose the bear over men because I know what she’s scared of.

growing up i was told to yell fire if i was being attacked, because people are more likely to pay attention if you do. my mom told me if im attacked to fight like hell and get dna, bite to get their blood on me and leave teeth marks on them, get their skin under my fingernails, fight dirty, and do literally anything to avoid being taken to a second location. its sad that a mother has to tell their kid that dying is better than whatever will happen to you there. the most warning i ever got about bears was to not to go near their cubs

My mom is not on the internet. A few days ago, someone cleared the overgrown land in front of her house. She said she was happy they did it because she is afraid by the possibility that a man may hide in the tall grass

I immediately remembered the bear thing and asked her "You are afraid of the man, but not even the snakes?". She said that a snake could just go away and don't hurt anyone

Steve Irwin quote says it all fellas.

Crocodiles are easy, they try to kill and eat you. People are harder. Sometimes they try to be your friend first.

The funny thing to me is that when I was first asked this question I said man because I do go in the woods often and often encounter strange men while walking and while I do immediately go on high alert, I've never encountered a bear. It wasn't until seeing how men responded to this that I was like alright nvm, bear... they love to show us how bad they are I guess.
