Cheap used luxury cars are inexpensive to acquire but their maintenance and repair cost are very expensive as they are well known for being unreliable. If you can’t afford a brand new luxury car, you also can’t afford a used one. There’s a very good reason why used luxury cars with high mileage are so cheap to buy compared to the price when they were brand new.

The biggest fear is the fear of failure. So what we need to agree upon together, and on a personal level, is to discipline our mindset into realising that there are no failures, there are only results or outcomes. You never fail in life, you always succeed. You succeed in getting results of some sort. The key is what we do with those results.

A number of years ago I bought a Gun Metal Grey Jaguar X-Type for £800 (I love Jags, my dad owned a Mark 2 and XJ 1960's models back in the day), It Needed a few repairs here, a lick of paint there. After a month and a half of hard work and it's sixth leather condition and paint work polish, re-furbed spoked wheels installed, the car looked a million bucks. I turned up to a meet and greet with some old friends, Fresh hair trim, well dressed with the Harris Tweed Sports jacket and Crockett&Jones Brogues stepping out of a gleaming Jag feeling like the boss. I actually had someone ask if I won the lottery or inherited some money. No, it was a cheap as chips car which I knew had brand power and sporting pedigree. Hides the fact that it's really a mundane car, pretty much a re-badged Ford Mondeo with a slightly prettier frock.

The 2010 Jeep Liberty was a surprise on this list… only because I wouldn’t consider it looking rich to drive one, but some years are super reliable.
I bought a 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport in 05, just a year old with 19k. Ive had near zero issues with it and nothing major that’s cost me more than a couple hundred to fix. It’s 17 years old and is still my daily driver with 170k miles on it, it could use a good detailing inside but still looks great outside. I love it as much today as the day I bought it. My kids joke that they’re going to bury me in it when I die!!

The rolls, Jag and the Maserati you can pickup for a throwaway price, but when something breaks or when it’s time for maintenance they’ll probably cost you 4x the price of the car!!

To the person reading this, never forget to be the person you are, never change for somebody or something, be yourself, believe in your dreams, and never let someone with a smaller mind-set tell you that your dreams are too big.
All the best.

I love this channel but the cars on this list are horrible buys. Most mentioned are unreliable and require expensive maintenance and will send you to the poor house if they break. The ones that don't, will not make you look rich. But considering 99% of your other Alux videos are spot on, I'll let this one slide. ;)
Here's my take:
An old Maserati might have the price of a newer Honda Civic but it will require expensive maintenance similar to an 80s Ferrari. Potential financial disaster.
Old Jaguars might have some style (except the X Type) but most of them are cheap because the previous owners skipped expensive maintenance and don't want to sink any more money into them.
Older Porsche Boxster won't make you look rich, but they will make you look like a car enthusiast at least. May have IMS bearing issues. $3k to repair, $5-10k for a used engine if they fail. Better to step up and get a older 911.
Rolls Royce. Yes it screams old money but watch Hoovie's Garage and how much money he sunk into his older Rolls that needed special parts and fluids.
Vaydor G35 looks like a kit car. You might impress non car people, but not anyone who is into cars.
Range Rover Evoque - probably the only one on the list that is newish and modern looking and not pricey that might give off a bit of a vibe of upper middle class money.
Nissan 350Z are cars for teens and guys in their 20s and will not make you look rich. Most are beat to death or overdone with camber kits and crazy wings.
Tesla Model S is another one that will give off a bit of a rich vibe but not sure you can find them for $20k range unless they come with issues or a salvage title.
You can't find a C5 Vette for $5-8k unless it's wrecked or needs a ton of work.
Jeep Liberty will never ever make you look rich. Not sure why it's on the list.

Here are some under $20/30k vehicles that might make you look somewhat rich. But just like with the list above, don't forget to put lots of cash aside for maintenance as most are complex and not cheap to repair:
Mercedes S Class 1988-2000, 2007 and up
Mercedes SL 1990 and up
Mercedes SEC, S Class Coupe and CL (big body coupes have timeless style and presence)
Mercedes CLS 2014 and up
BMW 7 series mid 1990s and up
Audi A8 mid 00's and up
Audi A7
Lexus LS and GS. Probably the most reliable out of all in this group although a bit understated
Porsche Panamera
Porsche Cayenne (the newer the better)
Porsche 911

And since you've read this far Aluxers, here's 2 bonuses that will make you look rich, but can spell financial disaster if they break down:
Maserati Quattroporte as long as its 07 and up without the duo select transmission.
Maserati Ghibli (current generation)

Cheers

Well, I didn't see the Jeep Liberty Sport coming. It's one that won't make you in fact poor (while you're pretending to be rich) if any significant maintenance needs to be done.

Lets try to 'BE' Rich and NOT 'LOOK Rich', They're all GOOD 'WEEKEND DRIVEAROUDS' or LEISURE project cars. If you need to 'look' rich, the service bill on athe average $5000, Maserati or Porsche with an "ageing head gasket" and "blown water pump" will put you bavk on Publuc transport.
That money could be your startup cash.. or future stocks.. then you could start to get some good examples of these on the side as collector's items.

The best car to look rich is the Lexus RX350, it's the Toyota Corolla of upper class neighborhoods it's the Rolex Submariner of cars.

Wtf, most of these cars doesn't make you seem rich at all lol. Maybe just the Rolls Royce and maybe the Tesla. You showed a brand new model Porche Boxster pictures which is over $60k base spec. The old $5k ones you're talking about look like Litte Tikes for kids.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse. They're rare and snatched up within minutes of being posted, but I got one in excellent condition for under $3000 including repairs and am still being stopped and honked at by admirers.
