Thank-you for a good video and actually sticking to what the title of it was, the last several videos got me mad b/c none of the cars you suggested as "Cheap" could be found for anywhere close to suggested in your videos, and the prices you suggested were usually higher than what your title read so it was frustrating.

I'm with you, I already owned a Mazda 3 and I loved it. I would buy again if I needed that size car. My second choice would probably be the Maverick and my father bought one the year they came out. He loves that little truck

Go with the Toyota, Mazda or Honda. Stay away from the rest

I've actually had the 2021 Trailblazer RS since Feb of 2021... I absolutely love this thing. I live up in the mountains, so the AWD is fantastic off road and in the snow. When you hit the Rally mode button, it tightens everything up, and lets you shred through mountain roads. My girlfriend ended up taking it from me because of how much fun it is to drive!

I own an 2021 Impreza sport hatchback in manual and I just added an Thornton performance chip. IT WORKs!!!. "kinda"....I definitely have more HP (15-20) but I don't know about the improved mpg having to much fun pushing it with the added HP 😂.

Brad, I'm tracking with you on the Maza 3.
If my options are only these vehicles, I'd opt for the Turbo hatch AWD version with a 6spd shiftable auto. At $32k MSRP, that's a hefty starting price (out of scope for the vid). However, at 227hp and 310ftlbs of torque, this puppy will spin tires better than my 279ftlb miata. Curb weight is a bit high, but that's a lot of torque for a factory turbo hatch.
Sadly, none of these cars are Right Wheel Drive, and I don't know if any actually have manual options. I'd like to revisit this list after 10yrs/100k mi. I suspect the story will be quite different.

Now that all the teenagers watching this are going out to buy a new car, how about a new car tips list. How to prevent that new car from ending up in the scrap yard 5yrs later. Tips like baby the engine for first 1kmi (nothing over half the redline). Likewise, tips on changing the oil. You know, every 3-7k mi (depending on maintenance schedule). What type of oil to put in the engine, what a valve cover oil cap looks like, how often to check it, how to check it, and what to look for. Run over something in the middle of the night, see a red light come on the that looks like a geni lamp? PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF! What about don't drive on the rim after a blowout/flat tire. Or if you hear a loud squeal when you engage the brakes, or around curves, chances are the brakes need to be changed.
Stuff like that. A ton of "mechanical nightmares" can be prevented with a basic car maintenance education. Accidents happen, but negligence can be avoided with awareness.
I had a conversation with someone the other day and was sharing a story of me changing the automatic trans fluid in my wife's car. The lady told me that she didn't even know she needed to do that. I then introduced her to her vehicle's maintenance schedule and informed her that her fluid change was supposed to have been done over 45k mi ago. I added that this is most likely the cause of her hard shifting.
Simply bringing awareness to the masses will help preserve vehicle life, regardless of make and model. Some cars are just more fault tolerant than others.

Cheers mate.

If you want a good cheap car look for a mitsubishi lancer es, they're all over place under 10 some even under 5 grand. 2.0l inline 4 150hp, plethora of aftermarket options easy to maintain and reliable. My 2012 has 193000 and I'm not gentle with it

Part of the reason cars have gotten so expensive is due to wealth inequality. Businesses are charging more so they can make more, at the expense of everybody else. Somebody oughta put a price cap on lower-end cars and force businesses to make at least one car in their lineup that costs under 15 grand. I'd vote for the politician who would put THAT into effect!

My Wife and I have proudy owned a 2015 "M3 Hatch" and my 2020 "M2 Sedan" (Toyota Yaris) and we ABSOLUTELY love them!
Yet, we have not owned the AWD version of a MAZDA, I am sure that it would be SPECTACULAR here in Western Washington State with our wet or icey roads...
Absolutely fabulous vehicle with reliability and responce!
P.S. If I remember correctly, this will be the last model year of the KIA SOAL, "DAMN", I miss the HONDA ELEMENT and SCION XB!

I can't.... I just can't.... I'm halfway through this video and the cars and prices on this video have me rolling my eyes. I love this channel, but I always kind of looked at this from an enthusiasts viewpoint. This video just screamed, cars for people who dont like anything about fun cars. Like.... my sister would go to the car lot and get one of these for her next family car... I could have 2 fun cars for the price of one of these forgetable old people cars. This coming from a 40 year old guy that is getting old....
