Great subject matter. I'll add one. By 40, guys need to employ an electronic toothbrush, and give serious thought to their oral hygiene. Using mouthwash supplemented by diluted hydrogen peroxide, for rinsing, works wonders for oral hygiene.

I liked this video a lot and agree with all of your choices! I'd add the following:
Stuff can be fun and have utility; It can also be serious distractions and even stumbling blocks! Therefore I'd respectfully suggest a list something resembling this:

"Ten 'things' every man should have by age 40!"

1. A personal relationship with his Creator.
2. A healthy self image. (To include mental health and socialization skills.)
3. Healthy relationships with his family and friends.
4. A loving wife whom he can be a loving husband to.
5. Children.
6. A professional career.
7. A solid financial plan and diversified investments (including insurances).
8. A personal hobby or hobbies. (Self actualization is "the pursuit of happiness.")
9. Physical fitness and a thorough understanding of his current and projected health.
10. A mentor as well as a mentee. (At least one of each.)
11. A classically liberal education.
12. Being engaged in at least one area of continuing education.
13. Volunteering time and efforts as well as giving financially to help others.

I believe that these are the true attainable goals by which a man can best achieve peace, joy, and happiness in his life.
I am now well beyond 40 (My sons are fast approaching that mark!) and I had all of the items from the video's list and most of these from my list by age 20.
However, I strongly suspect that my life would have been even better had I understood the value of these and focused on obtaining them earlier on.
Btw, I'm not suggesting things aren't to be enjoyed either... I have multiple homes, cars, boats, motorcycles, a twenty thousand volume library, and around 500 fragrances. Just that we are best served by seeking the truly important "things" first and foremost!

This is a very good list. I call it the FLOW, and every man feels good hitting and finding his own FLOW. My only add to this advice is, stay up with the times. If it's fashion or fragrnce, you want to stay cassic and classy, but you also want to stay up with the times. When it comes to self-improvement, books and material should be both classic and relevant. And last but not least, don't be afraid to pivot. Life will provide changes and opportunities to change that may just be for the better. Just my 2 pennies.
