This short screencast covers the steps necessary to relate tables together in proper one-to-many relationships in an Access relational database. It discusses how to determine proper relationships in the first place, how to create primary key fields, the use of the AutoNumber data type, the role of the primary key field in a table, and how to create foreign key fields. Both existing relationships as well as new one-to-many relationships are examined and created.

Hello Lisa ! This is a great course, very clear and well explain, thank you for doing this. I have a database related question regarding the foreign key on the contacts table, if the contacts tables is already populated with data how do I populate the CompanyID column that was just created in order to have accurate information? Does this needs to be manually done or outside Access and then upload or it can be populated with the related Companies table?
Thank you in advance for you time, much appreciated.
