Clean. Only thing I noticed I do differently is I add a little pipe dope to the threads where you put in the ball for the pop-up.I’ve over tightened a few of those nuts for the pop-up which caused the pop up to not open and close as smoothly as it should. You loosen it a little, and it leaks sometimes. Put some dope around the threads, tighten it up, no leaks and the pop up works perfect.

There are now new drains that does not use those ball in socket type of drain. There are now a “pop up” drain where you push to close and push to open.
