How to Remove Sink Plug Pop Up

Pop-up plug are the worst plugs because it's really difficult to completely remove the plug so that you could use a plunger to unclog your sink or basin. Luckily, there is an easier way to remove the pop-up plug for unclogging your sink. Watch this video to learn in 40 seconds how to remove this pop-up.

When you push the plug in, it closes. When you push it when it's closed, it'll pop up. To remove, turn the plug anti-clockwise direction. If it's not turning, then use a dry cloth and try harder. Once untightened, it'll unscrew easily. Now, unclog your sink/basin using a plunger. Tip - when unclogging using a plunger, hold the overflow hole to further help in creating the vacuum necessary for pulling stuck items out! Put the plug back, and screw it clockwise to tighten.

In order to completely remove the plug, you'll need to unscrew the pipes at the bottom of the sink which is very cumbersome and unnecessary if you're just trying to unclog your sink.

Bathroom sink no draining- hair clogged etc. I’ve tried lots, I can’t move it out, there is a little bit of give/ movement in each direction- so I don’t think it’s broken. Do you need very strong hands to do this? I’ve tried with cloth and rubber gloves?
