What do you think? Will Ship 30 and 31 be outpaced by the emerging Block 2 ships 33 and 34?

WOW, congratulations on the 400th episode of WAI. 🥳🥳🥳
In the three years I've been watching wai, I've grown a strong attachment to it. Spacex has become my hobby thanks to you and not a day goes by that I don't check to see if another episode has come out. At times you could talk about addiction in a good way. 😜
Despite the FAA's strange delay of flight 5, I can't wait for the life-stream. You guys are awesome!!!

Go Felix, go WAI, you ROCK !!!

Note the reference to the "Back to the Future" movie, with the phrase "Caution 1.21 Gigawatts" stencilled on the back of the seats.
The DeLorean automobile required that massive amount of power to make the time jump; missing the necessary load of plutonium to travel back to year 1985, Dr. Emmett Brown used the energy from a lightning bolt - which he and Marthy knew it would strike - in order to achieve the time jump.
Scott Manley hypothesized the relation between the 1.21 GWh and the Crew Dragon could be the total energy of the unusually high orbit of the Polaris Dawn capsule.
Thank you Felix for your steadfast stream of Space-related information flowing from WAI !

It needs a SAA, Space Aviation Administration - a separate department that focuses only on space flights.

Some time ago someone asked an engineer from a large construction company in the US how long it would take his company to build the Cheops pyramid. His answer was simple: "never to be done, first we would have to build a second such pyramid out of paper". It seems that Spacex also has to cut down a few hundred acres of forest for the FAA paper storage...

Happy 400 🎉 maybe by 500 we can make it to 1 million!

I feel like SpaceX should do a "crane assisted catch" with the test tank. Have the crane lower it (potentially several times) while the arms attempt catching the tank and taking the load from the crane in the process.

I can’t wait to see a WORLDS FIRST, 2 starship full stacks, stacked and ready to fly, 2 of the same ships, at the same time!! Can’t wait!

You are incorrect concerning the energy requirements for reaching Mercury. Speed is increased by reducing total energy: To go faster, one slows down. The orbital energy for Mercury is significantly less than Earth or Venus, so as the probe passes by each planet for a gravity assist, it is a subtractive pass vs. the typical additive pass for probes heading to the outer solar system: The probe passes the stellar body from the opposite side to loose energy.

FAA bureaucrats are flexing their paperwork powers. No wonder why Boeing and ULA are in trouble, they've been thriving under this bureaucracy which is now badly exposed by new innovative technology companies.

I feel sorry for you guys - channels like WAI, Marcus House, NSF et al are all having to think of new things to chat and make videos about because we should be on StarShip flight 6 or 7 right now if it wasnt for the stalling of the FAA... Keep up the great work as always though Felix and lets hope we dont have to wait too long for that long awaited catch on the next flight!! :)

If SpaceX are considering switching to Block 2 ships, then I don't see why they wouldn't just run another test of the Block 1 ships right now. Their launch license for the current configuration for test 4 is still valid, and they could launch Ship 30 using that configuration.

I say with the delays ship 30 would get skipped and Space X will go for Ship 33-34 on the next launch what do you think.

I'd like to see them hang a test booster from a crane to do a more dynamic catch test. They could use the crane to lower the booster, then "hover" it to work the timing of the catch. This would also give a better feel for the interaction between the arms and an unsupported booster "in flight."

It would be a bit complicated and risky, but when has that stopped them.

I suggest tuning it down in terms of complaining about "government bureaucracy". We (business) all have to follow regulations, pay taxes, implement procedures - and for a good reason. Without stable regulations, infrastructure to transport goods, and an educated workforce, our businesses (and SpaceX) wouldn't exist. So, just fill in the forms and get the job done.
